If you already have the Mac, OS-X vs Linux is usually just a matter of personal preference.

Exactly. I bought my Mac back in 2011 because nothing came close to the battery life and those specs at that price while being slim enough to be able to fit in my bag every day. Now, Yosemite really does look like an awful OS upgrade, visuals aside, there are some seriously bad bugs, the new spotlight (desktop search) sends every query to Apple (no idea why) and Microsoft (for Bing) and the fact that most of the new features require a recent iPhone. I'm clinging on to OSX Mavericks for now, but I will move to Linux if the battery life is decent.

Emulation applies to API function call emulation as much as it does CPU instruction emulation since the function calls are translated to native system calls in the same way, and the term can even apply to network protocol emulation, HDD command emulation, BIOS emulation etc.

Using your definition a Z80 emulator is merely an environment of Z80 CPU instructions, which just shows the distinction is inconsistent with itself.

You don't get to redefine the English language just because you have a popular FOSS project, especially when the term is well established for the same process in every other domain of computing.

My "Boy Love" fanatic ex also thought it was okay to have videos of 12 year old boys showering and hugging inappropriately, all the while blaming anyone unfortunate enough to be male for starting at her nearly exposed breasts, and calling every regretful sexual encounter "rape". The feminist double standards have really gone too far, affected the minds of girls who are now young adults, and have begun to remove all safe spaces for men to be themselves. Speaking out against this gets you labelled as a misogynist without further discussion leaving many men without a voice, which is the actual definition of oppression.

I've seen Avatar twice (both times were because someone else wanted me to accompany them when they went to see it). Once in a regular theatre, and the second time in an Imax theatre.

I got headaches only with the Imax version because of the linear polarization which meant if my head was tilted even slightly to the side, there would be ghosting. The cheapo cinema used circular polarization, which was more comfortable and caused me no eye strain at all. Perhaps something similar happened to you?

One thing you should watch out for is the really long delivery times for Dellbuntu systems, at least in my own experience. My brother bought an m1330 (with Vista) and it arrived in two weeks with no issues. I decided to buy my own but with Ubuntu pre-installed and I was given the same two weeks estimate. However for about two months I kept getting emails about unavailable stock and that the delivery estimate was moved back each time. This is despite the fact that the flashy stock checker said everything was fine when I customized the system. On top of this, I couldn't cancel or get a refund apparently because of the way the automated system works (what a load of bull).

I got annoyed about a month in and just bought a Macbook for ~£30 less and better specs (everything was the same except the Macbook had an Nvidia 9400m instead of a 8400m). If I didn't have spare cash from my student loan I'd have been in a right mess because the m1330 didn't arrive until May 11th, about 3 weeks after my project deadline.

Yes, I know my experience might have been bad, and others may vary, but this has put me off doing business with Dell for good, especially when my brother had no issues with his Vista machine, which tells me Dell isn't really serious about Ubuntu.

To answer the submitter's question I've personally bought the 9" eeePC with Xandros preinstalled and installed Ubuntu on it with Adamm's kernel (which is as simple as adding a repo). I'm sure the larger eeePCs should be just the same.

The welcome screen can't be changed from the ugly default, or reverted to nt logon. It's next to impossible to configure a 2k-like system from vista. I'm sure the same will be true of win7.
