    Tab mix plus? Granted, it's an extension, not by default, but it (along with adblock) is one of my "can't live without" extensions. The problem with Konqueror is that I can't use it on Windows. (well, not very easily)

    3-4 years? You mean, 8? Meanwhile, the Firefox devs plan on releasing a new version number every year.
    Issue one major release every year (Fx 3 in 2007, Fx 4 in 2008, etc.) since it helps drive upgrades and adoption

    Mmm, two points.
    1. Guild Wars is not an MMO. It is an RPG that allows you to play with other people, called a CORPG (co-op role-playing game)
    2. The lack of a subscription fee is not what makes Guild Wars pwn; it's the bait. I refuse to pay monthly for games, and that's what got me to buy GW. However, it is all the other things that have made me stay. (ask if you really want a list)

    Hmm, well, I don't buy any gaming mags. But one of my friends does, and it's solely for the *ahem* "polygons". I think that's weird, but that's the reasoning behind buying gaming mags: portable virtual pron.

    Well, just like any other encyclopedia, WP is a third-party source. If you are using it for a research paper, there is something wrong. Not because WP is necessarily inaccurate, but because you shouldn't use encyclopedias for research.

    Hey, I'm in the anti-iPod crowd, but I didn't buy any zune crap from MS. I went with a Creative Zen Vision:M, partly because it supports .ogg files.

    One thing regarding the dock: until you hover over the icon, it's just a picture. For me, as well as most people, pictures work best. But my Dad is text-oriented; he can't find things by pictures. He has to have the text underneath the shortcut for him to find it.

    I completely agree with this. However, it's not just the elderly, but a lot of us young 'uns as well. So many people I know are clueless when it comes to things. Of course, they shouldn't *have* to know so much (preferably), but right now the predominant OS is ahem not secure. Though, of course, I'm sure we're all familiar with social engineering. The user is the sysadmin's worst security nightmare.

    The security troubles that have dogged Microsoft's Internet Explorer web browser, for instance, are caused by hackers writing pieces of code that exploit vulnerabilities in IE's code, enabling them to use the browser as a springboard to carry out a malicious action - such as hijacking a user's PC.
    Meanwhile, web designers are busy at work creating web pages that work in Internet Explorer. Since MS doesn't give a DRM about standards, the developers' beautiful code must be "hacked" to work in IE.
