I don't know what the repercussions are in Denmark but here in the US when you see FBI warnings before a movie stating you'll be fined $150,000 and 10 years in a PMITA prison... I'd rather just keep my mouth shut and let someone who actually got caught challenge the system.

That quote is from the +5 informative post in the Kudos comment thread. A lot has changed since the 60's. Federal Minimum sentences, outrages fines, etc. Also if your skin color gives you away you really can't keep your head down so you had to fight for your rights. This is something that anyone can avoid; boycott or follow their rules. As noted in the comments from the torrent freak website: the probable outcome (if this goes to trial) is that the law will be changed to not allow personal backup copies; not that the circumvention will be removed.

So was the troll cause I was going for my first, first post ever on any forum, or because you disagree that its best to avoid law enforcement unless you can help it?

These people are weak and need to understand that the world is a cruel place. Those that can't handle it will die off and hopefully not pass that genetic trait on to their children and we will all be better for it.

My one condition: The video can only be viewed when a victim reports a crime.

The camera's can passively collect data, but may not be viewed. In order to view the data from the camera a victim must report a crime and then a warrant to view the alleged misdeed could then be viewed by a third party. If there is evidence to support the allegation it would then be viewable by the court.

The problem with constant surveillance is fishing expeditions. Crusaders who would watch the cameras like hawks and report every little misdeed.

Catching people speeding, having consensual sex, using substances, in possession of banned item, etc are what is bad about surveillance. If you could catch thieves, rapists and murders with surveillance who would be opposed to it? The issue is that surveillance is also used to catch people who do things which a large portion (but not the majority) of people think should be legal, but the majority has managed to pass "stupid" laws against. The prime example of this is cannabis.

There is a lot between 1 and .999 if your frame of reference is 1 second and the value you are measuring is the speed of light.

If you are measuring the length of a shoelace in inches then 1 inch and .999 inches might as well be the same thing.

Really if you just change the frame of reference and name your units something so that .999 is irrelevant then there for all practical purposes is no difference. However if your scale is wrong then those repeating decimals make a big difference.

Also T-mobile and the like have had a class action lawsuit over early termination fees and lost. Early termination fees don't have a very good record in court. I stiffed T-mobile my early termination when they tried to hit me with a "automatic-rollover" contract which once my two years time was done, I decided to opt out of service. I didn't opt out during the proper window so they charged me $400. They never got it, it has been 8 years now and they never collected or took me to court.
