And only when they weren't docking at the ISS. Basically if they were headed to the station, and something went wrong and they couldn't hook up, sending another shuttle up wasn't going to help.
One time in recent memory that they had two shuttles sitting on the launchpad, was when one was going to service the Hubble. So in this instance, they had a backup, as they would not be docking with the ISS.
Looked it up to find a picture, and found this article with a little more info. Two shuttles were only every visible on launch pads at the same time 4 times. And there was only ever 2 shuttles on launch pads (but not both visible at the same time) 18 times in history.

I agree to an extent. But things were also simpler back then. You move left or right, and press A or B. Now you have controllers with 78 different buttons on them, there is a higher degree of complexity there.
Of course anyone who's played one FPS can pick up another and figure out the differences easily enough.
Exactly.
I've stopped buying many games near launch, mainly because of budget. These days games drop in price so fast (except AAA Wii titles!), that within a year I can usually get them for about $20.
But a pleasant side effect of this, is that within that year, many games release a GOTY edition, and I get all that DLC with it!
I never had one, I was always AOL (I still have a version 1.5 floppy around somewhere)
So if the email address isn't real, you'll have to take that up with Han himself!
I agree completely.
I don't see what the difference is between owning a tivo, without using the tivo service, and owning a cell phone and having it unlocked and using on a different carrier...
The works in the photo may not have copyright, but the fact is, the photos still have copyright.
Let's say someone made a cd, where they performed songs that are all in public domain. They still get copyright over their version of the performance. The same would apply to a photo that you have taken.
- Fans of the title will be furious if they have to wait for weeks. No one will really be waiting for anything though... This is from the Guitar Hero 2 80s Edition, which came out during the summer IIRC. So anyone who's been waiting for the game already has it...
Well as it is now, in order to keep stats and whatnot when playing, you have to have exchanged friend codes with whom you're playing...
You can play against random people, but never see their name, can't talk to them, and no stats are tracked. So for all you know, it may still be the computer;-)

It's not just the same people creating this game though... They're using the same source code from the first two Guitar Heros, which Guitar Hero III is not. The early previews of GH3 say the timing doesn't feel quite the same as GH 1&2, but I bet that Rock Band does, because it's run exactly the same.
Nevermind the fact that you're buying a set of all the Matrix movies. So multiply it by 3, and Pirates is still winning (roughly 42k to 47k), but by a smaller margin.
And if people had the option to buy just the first Matrix movie, and not a bundle, it probably would have sold more on it's own.
If this is the same thing that Bill demoed a couple months ago, at that conference where everyone was expecting the new 360 to be announced (and wasn't), I thought it was pretty obvious that it wasn't an actual touch screen, and that it would be detecting your motions.
Exactly. I get bored playing GH2 on anything less than Expert. Even most bass lines on Expert are boring.
The first time I played through GH2, I never even failed a song on expert until I got to the last set. The only one that took more than 1 or 2 tries was Freebird. And I've still never beat Jordan on expert.
And I agree, how does making it harder hurt anyone? So what if you're not going to be able to right away beat the game on expert. But it does make it lame for the pros who can put in the new game, and beat all the songs, even ones they've never heard, in one try.
It may have 3 prongs on it, but when did you ever need all 3 in a game? It was nice so that whether you needed to use the D-Pad or the Analog stick, your hand could be equally as comfortable, and the trigger was a great addition too.
I do think the 360 controller is one of the most comfortable, however the D-Pad on it is awful! Have you ever tried playing Tetris on it? That's a game that shows just how bad the D-Pad is. The Dual Shock has the whole package.
Slashdot, Blabbermouth.Net, various pages across IGN. Mixed in with email, myspace for both myself and my band, check if there's any moderating to do on my band's message boards.
All that about 40 times a day. Well IGN not so much. Maybe twice a day.
Then when I get bored, there's some other sites I go to. screamscape.com for theme park/roller coaster news. Comingsoon.net for Movies.

However, preliminary voting results indicated that Gore was re-elected to Apple's Board.
Even though he's received the shareholder's majority vote, he's expected to lose the Apple electoral college vote.

They do still offer a lifetime service. I believe it costs $400.

Yeah... It may not affect him while he's in the US, but if he ever decides to travel to the UK, he could be in some trouble!
You're not getting it!
So then the next time that New Orleans gets decimated by a hurricane, it's not newsworthy!
I have an AOL version 1.5 floppy disk. :-)
And indeed that's what I learned in the 90s.

But then convert it into what their real concern is... Video files.

Then for those who feel like splurging, is the $39.99 Zippo controller.
