Because they are most likely going to use Intel chips to replace the old G4 chips long before they replace the G5s. And they are not going to totally over to Intel till 2007. So, their needs to be updates between now and then.
If they do this right, it will help out the average end-user who might not understand Bit Torrent.

Eye candy is wonderful, but it must be useful. Fluffy design is just as horrible as bad design.
And does anyone know what Longhorn will be seeded to developers? I hope that they give them enough time to make programs to take advantage of all the new things that the say are going to be in this OS.
If this thing at bluetooth it might be worth it. But it does not, it is just like evey other "cordless" mouse that needs a port to plug into, making it worthless in my eyes.
From what I can see, I like the H.264 codec better then divx codec. But with some of the new features this might bring it up to par. Does anybody have a preference? I think there both good. Just as long as nobody uses WMVs, I am happy
I use ichat to Video Chat with with my friend useing the AIM service, on both PC and Macintosh. So my Question is; Whats wrong with useing AIM or the open standard , Jabber for this kind of work?
"Windows' flaws are just more publicized because of its much wider user base."
I know this but if there was less of a unculture among OSs it would make better for all
ichat and isight runing on a mac mini ( or any other mac) would work fine even for you non-computer user. You could have a Jabber network for in the office and off-site or just use the AIM part.
Ok, I know Linux is very secure and stable, but at the end of day there just isn't enough easy-to-use software out there for the average end-user. There is no verson of Quickbooks, itunes, or any of the major adobe apps on the market. I know there are many opensorce substitutes for these apps but in the end there not the same.
The big problem is that burned disks only last 1 to 2 years at most after Finalized. So the best solution for mass data back-up is still to use a 1394 HD or a Raid of some kind. Besides this crazy format will just end up the Zip disk of DVDs.
Intel might be looking in to moving *its* company over to PowerPC to make chips for apple and possibly others. After see how many Game consol makers, even M$, went after the PPC 970, maybe they want a cut of the PPC action.

Make the next computer that they buy a Macintosh

How open are banks to this kind of attack ? Or Credit Companys or anyone of the other 1000's of companys that we give our personal data to.

I think companies should start seriously looking into Linux and Macintosh more after this.
I dont get it, Why would then do this? How is this going to make hotmail any better? the way Microsoft does things is such a baffle to me.

normally, patents require that you have atleast a working protoype
Why can't you just use a raid for mass back-ups?
