Pardon me but it seems like the point about the Lenovo machine not running OS X is bad on Apple's part. Lack of portability is a major problem if you are planning to upgrade your machine. What happens when we get tired of using apple hardware? I like to keep my choices open. This is going to start to take away our choice of hardware. Slowly the selection we expect from New Egg or TigerDirect is going to get smaller. No more OCZ, EVGA, AMD, and other non-Apple choice hardware. This is part of the reason why Apple isn't as big as Microsoft. Some may say why not Linux? Because no matter how good Linux is it isn't mainstream. It will always stay independent. So in part we need people to keep buying Lenovo, Dell, and IBM. So they can keep a good variety in the market. As far as I can tell that is the only way we can keep from losing the creativity brought to the table. Nobody understands that variety is what made computers what they are today. Do people really believe Apple would be so good without that independent thinking? God save the PC! F*$k Macintosh

They are still, above all else, not very portable (without hacking, not portable at all). As soon as this happens I feel your comment will be extremely relevant. But until I can buy OSX off the shelf and use it with a standard BIOS, use with my Logitech gadgets, and upgrade my memory with what my mainboard can handle, use any standard cabling I want, any sound card, any video card, any harddrive, any dvd burner/player, any case, and any PSU I want. Then I am not interested. Third party support is not especially a strength with OSX. I understand there are many work arounds but it just doesn't seem to function like it does on a Linux or Windows machine. Call me when I can use my Logitech Quickcam software on a Macintosh.

Free art is not meant to have any organization beyond the constraints of the artist. It is probably the only known form of true anarchy. I feel that it is needed for a balance between it and mainstream. Unionizing bloggers is just plain silly. What if everybody with a personal diary had a union? This seems to show the fine line between a journalist and a blogger.

Short term it is merely for trucking millionaires into space. Mid term it could mean big money for resort owners to be the first one to rent condominiums in space or even the moon. There are a lot of people who would line up for such things. Probably not practical minded people though.

NASA is like any other government organization. They are monitored closer than private companies. Profit can get in the way of science. This for the most part is true since they run on engines that burn fuel to move it along the road and they are trucks. Simply put they both do the same 'basic' stuff. Evolution took over and made them different paths. But there foundations/bases will still remain until something unrelated comes along. Like a OS that can make your machine be able to think like you or me. For now though it is I/O for us all. This is especially true for linux and Macintosh.

Heck I have gotten video lan to take care of them all but those who do not want the trouble should blame the stupid websites. Why doesnt Apple try and compete with Microsoft and just put OSX on the shelf? I mean there is obviously nothing to be afraid of. And unlike Linux, people (average joe) have heard of OSX. Infact, if they did this they might take half the market. Once people start seeing how useful OSX is on a pc they will want to try it on a Mac. The whole strategy of "my hardware is better than anything out there" is ridiculus. If anything that is the very reason why Microsoft is still around. A little competition might get Microsoft to get their head out of their ass and stop wasting time. But for the time being apple continues down the same path it has followed since the early 1980s. Sure I admit they have taken major steps along the way. Yet it seems the closer that they move toward opening their system to the standards (processors) set by linux (running mostly on the same processor for average users) and microsoft, the more market they seem to be gaining. Who really cares about product activation since you can always crack it to bypass it (illegaly, hehe!). And do you really mind going through a couple of more steps to install?
