There's been a lot more then just MAME emulation. So far there's emulators either running at full speed or are in development for the following [to my knowledge]:
MAME
NES
Genesis
SNES
Neo-Geo
PS1
N64
Nintendo DS
Doesn't really sound all that interesting compared to some other things I've heard about.
On the CBC a little while ago there was an interesting feature on a company that has a local online setup for Ottawa that allows sellers and buyers to haggle. Anyone as cheap as I am can see the obvious benefits in such a system.
I do use SSH fairly often, so no I don't have it disabled. I tend to use memorable passwords, but I usually tend to put it through a google test; if it doesn't show up with any results on google I'd say it's pretty safe, and I use it. Thanks for the advice, though.
Is there a specific dumpster I can go to to find these discarded computers? I'm looking for a new one, and malware being on the computer is no problem; just install Linux.
Why would anyone turn Remote Desktop on unless they know specifically that they're going to use it? The very name of it makes it sound like it's a problem waiting to happen. Even though I use Linux, I made a note of making sure any Remote Desktop feature was disabled.
Firefox is like a gateway drug. It got me hooked on OSS, and not long after I installed FireFox I tried Linux. Only about a month later, I formatted my HDDs and installed only Linux (trying and switching a few distros in the process to find what I like, Ubuntu). Never been happier with my computer.
I'd kinda like to see just a flaming penguin as a "screen of death". Horrible and kinda offensive to lovers of tux... but still funny as hell.

They did check it, it only unlocks stuff. It really isn't rockstar's fault. It may be there, but it requires some off-the-normal hacking to get to. Raising the alarm on this would be like calling KOTOR 2 longer because of all the stuff cut out and still left on the disc.
Also, this stuff isn't part of the main feature anyway. Extras in movies aren't rated, and I would assume it would be the same in games. This stuff isn't even extra. It's like you buy a house and find gold burried in the backyard under 7 or 8 feet of soil.
So how is this little sex scene between two animated figures all that different from the sex scence between two puppets in Team America? Didn't that game get the equivilant of an "M" rating? It really does seem like idiots who don't know how to raise their kids properly have it out for GTA.
America... fuck yeah. That county, along with any other that blames every little thing on GTA without taking the resposibility on other social issues (the widespread use of guns and how so many people have one to begin with) needs to re-think their social values.
It really is too bad Opera is choosing to charge for it's browser or force people to look at ads, or I'd look into downloading it. It's shaping up pretty good, but I've tweaked FireFox to block all ads... not just popups, all ads, so it would be shitty to have them back and built into the browser.
Any extensions for FireFox that connect to a BitTorrent client?
I'd say you need a bit of games that are classic in nature, but are at least reletivly new. For instance, games like Viewtiful Joe, or any of Nippon Ichi's creations bring out a nostalgic rush, and play like their older cousins, but are much, much deeper and/or stylish.
Personally, I get a lot of replay value out of the Metal Gear Solid series. To this date, it retains a very traditional camera placement, with very contraversial or thought provocing themes and fantastic graphics. The games, while holding on to the classic roots of the original MG or MG2: Solid Snake, also blur the lines between game and movie, but in a good way.
If MGS isn't your kind of game, go for the Dragon Warrior (Dragon Quest) series. 1 - 4 are for NES, 5 - 6 weren't released here (SNES), but have fan translations, 7 was released on PS1 a few years ago and is one of the few games I've played to actually go over the 100 hour mark, and Dragon Quest 8 should be here by the end of the year for PS2. There's some excellent documentation and forums over at http://www.dragons-den/.
... because Nintendo has a patent on a 4-way cross controller.
That would be why Master System, Genesis, GameGear, Turbosomethingorother, Nomad, Saturn, DreamCast, XBox, almost all 3rd party PS1/2 controllers, and almost all controllers made since Game and Watch was released make use of a cross controller?
The problem with the GCN controller is that it's missing so many buttons in comparison to it's competitor's controllers. It's missing joystick "clicks" (R3 and L3, if you will), a back/select button, and an equivelant to the L2 button. It also has the most crippling D-pad imaginable (taken strait from the GBA), making extended use of it painful (that's without mention of it's awkward placement). It was these crippling things that made Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes so frustrating for me to play, after having played MGS2 so much.
N!GHTS is one of the most fucked up games I've ever played, and strongly reminds me of the Beatles song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" whenever I play it.

Yeah, I also forgot GB/GBC and GBA on top of those.

Gotta love bittorrent. The only thing we can't slashdot!

Wouldn't it just be easier to slashdot a site owned by a spammer company?
Until this problem is solved, Windows will be an outsider. Fix'd

A recent study confirms 86.56 percent of computer users have massive amounts of malware on their computer.

I accidentally called team america a game. I meant movie. Although there may be a game based off the movie, I really don't know.

The title is very misleading. I thought it meant script writers... I was really hoping to see Kojima on that list.

Can I put a Bort licence plate on it?
Upon further inspection, it's definitely running Mac OS X. http://a1112.g.akamai.net/7/1112/492/2002091469/ww w.wired.com/news/images/manual/smartboard2_f.jpg
This clearly shows a blue apple in the upper left hand corner, and the bottem panel is that of Mac OS X's.
Problem solved, I guess. :)
