Yes, and don't forget the best part of the new beta. An advertisment at the bottom that you can't get rid of! Wonderful. I am downloading the current non-beta version and saving that one for future use forever.

I don't get this argument by Adobe. This software, PDFCREATOR, is free and lets you convert any document (including MS Office documents) to PDF.

What's the big deal? Is it that Adobe knows most users don't know that you don't have to buy Adobe Acrobat to make a PDF?

This was a very interesting comment on the blog site:

    "
The migration to Vista will be a passive one, as someone else previously mentioned; appearing on new computers bought by companies.

The same for home users; a lot of people do not know enough to figure out what hardware upgrades they need ; so again, it will appear on new computers.

Is this what Windows has become? An upgrade no one wants, forced upon them because the new hardware they're buying doesn't support anything less?

Compare this to OS X, where people fall all over themselves trying to get the newest version running on their old hardware because there's actual value in the new features.

So Vista has its guts ripped out, slips, and we wait another 5 years for a potentially insipring version of Windows, meanwhile Apple ships another 3 updates to OS X.

I hope to God Office 12 steps up and kicks some ass. "

I couldn't read the article, but it seems like they don't support 5.1 surround sound. Today's games that support surround sound make the game SO much better. Hearing an enemy sneak up behind you is just the biggest thing IMHO to come to gaming in YEARS! If they don't support 5.1, I don't care if they are $10.

If you want a GREAT 5.1 surround support gaming headset, for about the same amount of money of ~$100, check out the Medusa headsets

As much as I would love to try out Thunderbird, there is one basic problem. Once I move all my existing OUtlook mail to it, I can't move BACK to outlook. Granted this is OUtlook's problem, but if Open Source projects would like more people to try it, they should add an "Export to YYY Format" as they have done for INPORT. How hard could it be? They already have it working in one direction, why not add to a second. Blah p.s. Yes, I know. Put my money where my mouth is, but I am not a programmer :)
