Yes, and don't forget the best part of the new beta. An advertisment at the bottom that you can't get rid of! Wonderful.
I am downloading the current non-beta version and saving that one for future use forever.
Actually, you should try bumping up your XP ram requirements. I tried to do "office" work on an XP box with 512mb of ram, god was that awful. 1gb is MINIMUM I recommend for anything in XP.
This was a very interesting comment on the blog site:
" The migration to Vista will be a passive one, as someone else previously mentioned; appearing on new computers bought by companies.
The same for home users; a lot of people do not know enough to figure out what hardware upgrades they need ; so again, it will appear on new computers.
Is this what Windows has become? An upgrade no one wants, forced upon them because the new hardware they're buying doesn't support anything less?
Compare this to OS X, where people fall all over themselves trying to get the newest version running on their old hardware because there's actual value in the new features.
So Vista has its guts ripped out, slips, and we wait another 5 years for a potentially insipring version of Windows, meanwhile Apple ships another 3 updates to OS X.
I hope to God Office 12 steps up and kicks some ass. "
I couldn't read the article, but it seems like they don't support 5.1 surround sound.
Today's games that support surround sound make the game SO much better. Hearing an enemy sneak up behind you is just the biggest thing IMHO to come to gaming in YEARS! If they don't support 5.1, I don't care if they are $10.
If you want a GREAT 5.1 surround support gaming headset, for about the same amount of money of ~$100, check out the Medusa headsets
First, it's great that this is in process of development -- I hope it catches on and it is included in Firefox standard install!
On the otherhand, it still has a ways to go to match google:(. I tried a quick couple of searches and got no results back whereas google found stuff... (for example, my name).
I went to the article expecting to see some example booth babe pics, and damn it, there are none!:( I want to see some booth babe pics in this article!:)
From the article: "Someone get that man a Foster's!"
The author clearly knows NOTHING about Australia!:) In Australia you can't even find Fosters, and, if you can, no one drinks it as it's considered terrible beer.
It will be interesting if his arguement holds up, as I always thought this might be a good defense for people who do this sort of activity --- keep your wireless networks wide open and claim that it wasn't you but someone who snuck on your network.
Watch your extensions, some seem to not work with latest release.
For me, Forecastfox and IE View....
Yes, you can modify the extension to make it work, but it's a bit of a pain and later on seemed to give me problems...
As much as I would love to try out Thunderbird, there is one basic problem. Once I move all my existing OUtlook mail to it, I can't move BACK to outlook. Granted this is OUtlook's problem, but if Open Source projects would like more people to try it, they should add an "Export to YYY Format" as they have done for INPORT.
How hard could it be? They already have it working in one direction, why not add to a second.
Blah
p.s. Yes, I know. Put my money where my mouth is, but I am not a programmer:)

I have to cry Shenanigans!!:) According to your Slashdot profile http://slashdot.org/~wilkinsm , this is not the case.
ah, now I understand. thanks!
I don't get this argument by Adobe. This software, PDFCREATOR, is free and lets you convert any document (including MS Office documents) to PDF.
What's the big deal? Is it that Adobe knows most users don't know that you don't have to buy Adobe Acrobat to make a PDF?

And, given the dollar to euro exchange rate, a lot of europeans will end up buying it in/from the USA!

Yes! However, it's the attitude of "figure it out moron" from some people that is the problem with open source projects.
And people wonder why open source projects have such a hard time getting real momentum and acceptance with end users?
Wonderful post! Wish I didn't just use up my mod points, would definitely have modded you +1 !!
In outlook 2003 you can export to Ical? News to me, can you provide specific instructions please as I couldn't find it...

Warning, seems like most extensions won't work from 1.0x to 1.5beta1..
Ah laddy, you don't have transparent aluminum in this time yet (star trek IV)! :)
Wow, stronger than alumninum and thinner. Sounds amazin!
Phew, some male researches are not getting "any" from their wives or significant-others for the next week! :)
Without book stacks, future generations of students can't "hook-up" in the stacks!
:)
My god, talk about the end of a college tradition!
