Don't get your hopes up. From what I understand they are simply rewriting the media center components of the "consumer" (not corporate) version of the OS to make it more compatible with Intel's VIIV.
As a data recovery tech I can tell you that all drives will fail eventually. Sometimes a manufacturer has a bad production run and we will see a lot of a particular model come in.
I am using Seagate drives in my personal computers since they ofer a 5 year warranty. I also store all my important files on a mirrored set of disks on my desktop PC. That alone has saved me from becoming a customer to my own service several times and it is well worth the price of another drive (about $100 for 200 gigs).
IMHO buying a hard drive based on reviews or brand reputation only leads people into a false sense of security. The only way to keep your data safe is through redundancy and good backup practices.
I actually try to figure out what's causing the problem before I blow everything away. It is usually faster than reinstalling everything and getting my system back to the way I like it. I do a google search for whatever error pops up and I usually find an answer that works.
I use a nifty program called Crap Cleaner once a week or so to clean up all the temp garbage. I also have Norton Ghost run backups just in case something really bad happens like a hard drive crash. I also have DisKeeper run a defrag when my screen saver starts. Doing those things alone has kept my system running well since April 2004. I like to think that my time is valuable so I try to spend less of it fixing my own computer so I can spend more time getting paid to fix other peoples computers.
As a PC tech I often go out to people's houses and remove spyware and other crap that IE seems to pick up after a few weeks of use. One repeat customer of mine asked me how he could avoid the problem in the future. I told him about Firefox (since telling him about that was a lot less uncomfortable that telling him to stop looking for free porn) and the problem went away.
I know that I did the right thing ethically but I lost $75 a month in income. Think about it, if all software was completely secure then the computer repair industry would crumble.

The short answer is none of them will. The only reason socket A lasted so long was the memory controler was still part of the north bridge. Now that the memory controler is integrated a new socket is required every time memory technology changes or a new feature is integrated.
This may put a lot of people who are looking for a long term investment in their mother board but by the time the new socket comes out it would probably be in their best interest performance wise to go ahead and upgrade. Just my $0.02
I also heard that the pixel pipelines would also be disabled to match that of the secondary video card. So if your Crossfire card has 16 pipes and the second one only has 12 then the master card will disable four of it's pipes. I don't remember where I read that but it was on the internet so it must be true:)
To be serious for a moment... If I had children I know there are things on the internet I wouldn't want them to stumble upon so I can see why some people want to have that kind of content eliminated. On the other hand I don't believe that the government should have the power to decide what qualifies as ofensive. I would rather take it upon myself as a parent to limit my child's access to the internet. (/serious) When the day comes that my nerd son has skillz so 1337 that he can best my home network security then I will proudly grant him access to the full fowlness of the internet. I will unleash upon the internet a nerd the likes of which the world has never seen before!
"Provide proper transportation and shelter? Most people staying in the city had no cars and were too poor to pay for hotels (which increased their prices for more profit). It is entirely logical they had no other option than to stay in the city. Don't call them idiots, not every American has the possibilities you apparantly have.."
Also not everyone has home or renters insurance. I know you are supposed to but when times are tough I can see how some people would let their policy lapse.
"The climate on the planet earth is about five degrees warmer than it was at the peak of the last glaciation twenty thousand years ago."
How do you know this? How can you determine what the atmospheric temperature was thousands of years before writen records were kept?
Nah. I would talk more about popular actresses here but I am afraid this would turn into one of those forums where people try to refute each others flame bait with more flame bait. I reverve that kind of activity for the IMDb forums.
Yeah I know, I used to have that movie. I picked He-Man so any new movie based on the He-Man franchise would be a remake of an old movie and an old cartoon. Frank Langella made a bad ass Skeletor.
Sweet! I just won $50 from myself. Now all I need to do is Jedi Mind Trick this guy into casting Paris Hilton as Skeletor and maybe Jessica Alba as Evil-Lyn.
He was one of the reasons I canceled my PC Magazine subscription. Most of his articles just pissed me off and my non-geek wife was tired of hearing my rants about him at the dinner table.
A few months ago I would have agreed with you. I bought a G5 Mac for my brother-in-law since he needed one for his film classes at college. It was about 2000 bucks for the computer itself which is about right for a dual proc system with a gig of ram and various other upgrades (this was last December so prices have changed)). It would have cost about the same or more to build a dual AMD Opteron system from the ground up with high quality hardware, aluminum case and XP Pro and that's not including the time I would have to spend putting it together.
In short, no I don't think their stuff is overpriced.
There is a game for the Playstation 1 called Carnage Heart that is similar. You assembled robots using a variety of body types and weapons and then programed the AI for them. After you were satisfied with your design you would use them to fight the bad robots. It's one of the few PS1 games I still like to play.
No! No! No! You got it all wrong.
This is how it's done:
In Soviet Russia (s) YOU!
In Soviet Russia HP introduces YOU!
In Soviet Russia PA-RISC outpreforms YOU!

So gross yet so funny. For those who don't know what a Cleveland Steamer is Wikipedia is your friend.

It won't be me! I use PeerGuardian.

Sorry! That's foulness. I knew something didn't look right when I previewed the post. Wait you mean you aren't all ducks?

Well for one thing wings probably make a better looking pin than an oxygen tank.

Lets take bets on what TV franchise from the 80's they will bastardize next. I've got $50 down for He-Man. Paris Hilton can be Skeletor.
He was one of the reasons I canceled my PC Magazine subscription. Most of his articles just pissed me off and my non-geek wife was tired of hearing my rants about him at the dinner table.
I always thought articles were simply prompts for people to make comments about something losely related to its description.

A virus that exploits a critical flaw in MS-RSS causes world wide security panic. Patch due to be released next Tuesday.
That's the best funny I could come up with. Need sleep now.
