It's all in how you use it. You don't necessarily have to use those features. Most of them are junk anyway. Especially the form designer for web pages, it produces worthless garbage code(if you call html code, but that's another topic).
I have worked in both.net and Java using VS and JBuilder. The thing that I like about Java is that it forces you to write cleaner code at some points. Such as classes in a namespace being in separate files whereas in.net you can put all of your classes in one file and just put a namespace around it if you're lazy.
My applications are either ASP.net or Java/Struts. They are conceptually the same. The Java people like to talk about Model View Controller like it is some huge thing the nobody can possibly understand. I'll tell you that for me switching from ASP.net to Java/Struts took about a week to learn. It's really not *that* different.
It really depends on how much ADD you have. I thought it was a very good book for learning Java. Not much good as a reference book though. The Java certification books by the same authors are also good. Hopefully they will have the Java 1.5 version of the book out soon.
I have a similar setup, an Athlon XP 3200 with a GeForce 5950. I've been thinking of getting one of the motherboards with both AGP and PCI express on it to give myself an easier time with the upgrade path. I can get the board and a CPU, then keep my memory and video card for a while. But then I think about the new AMD sockets that are just around the corner and I think I should wait for a similar board with that socket.
Isn't this more a question of censoring the search results? Uncensored search results are not a basic human right. They're just a thing we think we have until the FBI comes knocking on the door.
I use the Firefly remote and its actually pretty good. But I'm not trying to control my home stereo with it though. I just use Beyond TV on my computer.
I don't think so. On the internet content is king. If users find out that their ISP is not delivering the content they want as fast as they want it it will be time for a new ISP before it will be time for new content.
I changed my ISP years ago when the performance with the video game I was playing at the time (EQ) was not good. The new ISP improved my performance and I'm not looking back.
The even more interesting/. story will be when someone finds a way to make OS X run on their home build PC. Not that I would particularly care to do so, but it would still be cool that it's possible.
Well, Linux users generally know what they are doing if they've gone to the effort of using Linux over something else. So, their stress level is probably lower.
Mac users don't really care if their computer works or not as long as they can get it in a cute color.
And Windows users are everyone else, which is what this article covers.
That's exactly their problem though. They don't know or care where they are in 20 years as long as it makes lots of money. This is exactly why they are dabbling in a little bit of everything.
MS doesn't want to be caught with their pants down the way they were with the internet in the 90's. They have big piles of cash and they're using it to avoid that situation again by doing everything instead of focusing. Only time can tell how this will turn out.
Mama always said search engines are the devil!

1 in 62 is pretty low considering that 61 in 62 site are porn.

I can't hear you now. Someone's using all my bandwidth!
It would probably be better to *NOT* point these things out.

In the words of George Carlin: "The planet is fine, but the people are fucked."
What's to stop them from making a season of 'Serenity'?
Or 550 to 600 Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers.

This will change the world! It will change the way we build cities!!!
Is that a store bought copy of OS X, or a developer copy?

Can I get my hacker protection in a different color? Maybe a nice teal.

They also have way more expenses than Microsoft from what I've heard.
If we just make gas $10 a gallon things will work themselves out, and SUVs will be gone.
That's not true. I saw Airwolf fly to the edge of space.
That's right, it will take my 60 year old television to handle that wild video stuff.
