I agree, they have to come to the realization that the times have changed and so does the distribution model. Now if they can only sign artists that actually play instruments and write their own songs, they might actually have something to look forward to.

What exactly was hateful about what I wrote? I am only stating the facts, and Oil companies don't like mass transit, otherwise it would be everywhere.

  4. DATA Breach Timescape on The Data Accountability and Trust Act (DATA) · · Score: 5, Funny

PICARD: What's the problem, Mister Data?

    Data turns to them.

DATA: I believe I have discovered the cause of the identity theft. There is a hard core data data breach in progress.

They react. Data indicates the phishing email on the screen. They walk up to it...

DATA: It is the flashpoint of a privacy invasion. And it is expanding.

PICARD: Expanding... I thought phishing scams were suspended on this ship?

DATA: We were incorrect. I have determined that email scams are moving forward at an infinitesimal rate.

TROI:Why didn't we notice it before?

DATA: Our initial conclusion was based on our observations of the crew. A data breach moves at a much faster rate. The motion of the email is within my neural detection threshold. Based on its current expansion rate, it will consume the crew's identity in approximately nine hours, seventeen minutes.

PICARD: Is there any way we can stop it?

DATA: It is no longer a question of stopping it, sir. The explosion of phishing email has already occurred -- The fact that it is moving slowly changes nothing.

Picard stares at the screen for a long moment...becoming very thoughtful...

PICARD: Astonishing... to see our identities stolen like this...

70 percent are willing to drive less, and walk, bike, car pool or take mass transit.

Mass transit, what a great idea! Too bad no politician in our Republican-controlled government is willing to invest, or even talk about in a mass transit train system that can easily and quickly move people to and from work/home. This is just one of many solutions that you may never see when Oil barons are running the country.
Exxon/Mobil is #1 on the Fortune500 and for a simple reason - we all drive hugely inefficient vehicles.

  6. Email works, everyone has it on Why Email Is Still The Most Adopted Collaboration Tool · · Score: 5, Insightful

So, why are Collaboration Software Vendors (Central Desktop included), keen on vilifying email and so quick to promise a practical alternative to the chaos of email?

So they can increase their profits by selling businesses software they may not even need.

And, if the vendor's software is so much better than email, than why do users revert back to email as soon as they hit a snag in the system?

    Because email works, period.

Why do users refuse to adopt collaboration software?

Usually, it will just be another application to learn aside from your email and IM, and doesn't provide any greater functionality.

Am I the next master of the obvious? ;)

I hope a PC will help them, but I doubt it. Things need to change on a global economic scale first, then these nations might have a chance at creating a 'first world' society.
