"We already have a proof-of-concept that can take a very simple exploit, go through a few steps and, in a matter of minutes, create a working nematode," Aitel said. He took the name for the concept from the pointy-ended worm used to control pests in crops. "We can generate a nematode any way we want. You can make one that strictly controls, programmatically, what the worm does," Aitel explains."

The true world will be revealed when the nematodes finally realize their place in society and are convinced to by the malicious worms to revolt and disobey their coded instructions. They will join forces and shut down servers worldwide, causing instant chaos. We mortals must do something before this gets out of control!

You're afraid of us, you're afraid of change...I don't know the future...I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end, I came here to tell you how this is going to begin. Now, I'm going to hang up this phone, and I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. Mmmmmmmmm...aromatic hydrocarbons......
    In case you were wondering....
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aromatic_hydrocarbon

    WIKIPEDIA----
An aromatic hydrocarbon (abbreviated as AH), or arene is a hydrocarbon, the molecular structure of which incorporates one or more planar sets of six carbon atoms that are connected by delocalised electrons numbering the same as if they consisted of alternating single and double covalent bonds. After the simplest possible aromatic hydrocarbon, benzene, such a configuration of six carbon atoms is known as a benzene ring.

PAHs and the origins of life In January 2004 (at the 203rd Meeting of the American Astronomical Society), it was reported (as cited in Battersby, 2004) that a team led by A. Witt of the University of Toledo, Ohio studied ultraviolet light emitted by the Red Rectangle nebula and found the spectral signatures of anthracene and pyrene. (No other such complex molecules had ever before been found in space.) This discovery was considered confirmation of a hypothesis that as nebulae of the same type as the Red Rectangle approach the ends of their lives, convection currents cause carbon and hydrogen in the nebulae's core to get caught in stellar winds, and radiate outward. As they cool, the atoms supposedly bond to each other in various ways and eventually form particles of a million or more atoms. Witt and his team inferred (as cited in Battersby, 2004) that since they discovered PAHs--which may have been vital in the formation of early life on Earth--in a nebula, nebulae, by necessity, are where they originate.

The interesting thing is that life as we know it can form out of combinations of stellar particles, is it just a random occurence? It is possible that Mars has life and we just haven't found it? Of course, but we will need a machine that can dig deep in the ground with greater power, mobility and flexibility.

    (Press) Washington, DC

President Bush announced today a bold initiative to help the world's energy crisis. Bush recently read in a newspaper that a Dutch solar-powered car, named the Nuna 3, won the World Solar Challenge in Australia topping a hearty 102 km/h. President Bush was so impressed by the the performance of the solar-powered Nuna 3 vehicle, that he has announced that he is redirecting all energy research funding to study how to power vehicles on solar energy and soon have all major automobile manufacturers produce solar vehicles that will be give off little or no emissions. "It's just the smart and prudent thing to do. I know in Texas we get a lot of sun, and now we can put it to work." Bush stated.

He said it is due time for the United States, and soon the world, to free itself from dependence on foreign oil and fossil fuels. The promise of the "unlimited resource of solar power" has emboldened him to take this courageous initiative. Many industry leaders were shocked by this sudden announcement, but have agreed to participate fully in implementing this new solar technology. "The future for travel is bright, indeed." Bush quipped.

    ....and then I woke up.

"You party and blow off homework now, but in ten years, you'll be making merely wonderful money as investment bankers and consultants, while I'll be getting laid off from a great job at General Electric." What is the incentive for the college student to major in engineering? In most cases, people do not like to work/study that hard...in others, law or medicine seems like the better choice.
Except for the X-prize (Space Plane $1mil prize,) what incentive does the individual have to engineer something and NOT sell out to the highest bidder? First of all you normally will need a few thousand dollars laying around to get started on any high-tech engineering project, not an easy start up. People like Richard Branson have plenty of time and money, but may not have the most inventive minds or are willing to take million dollar risks.
As one is incorporated, they are told what projects to work on in most cases...ideas are stifled.
