IIRC, there was a security hole almost exactly like this one in several other FTP servers. Why didn't Wu-FTP (and the distro's) evaluate the code for it then?
I transfered my domain name easily from NSI to my ISP's Registar (Tucows). Was as easy as pie. I just put in what domain I wanted to transfer, put in my personal information, and I just had to reply to two emails (one from the new, one from the old) and that was that.
they say don't change to a dynamic root shell. If you pork your system, and when you go to fix it in single-user mode, if you only mount the / filesystem, and your shell requires libraries on the/usr filesystem, then it's a pain in the ass to fix.
but i must also give props to bbedit. one of the best text editors ever. all of the features of word, but it only does them when you want it to. bbedit defaults to text mode when there is no extra formatting. =)
In Spaceballs, they have a charecter with those exact quanities. If I remembered correctly, the Spaceballs charecter had an overdose of those, so he's perpetualy under the influance of Valium.
It was damn near impossible to find copies of the original trilogy that were not the "Special Editions" (why are they special? is it cause they ride the little yellow bus to school?) But I got my set piece-meal via presents and ebay. =) But I have the feeling the DVD version will be "Special Edition" only.:'-(
I'm not sure what part of California you live in, but I live in the San Francisco bay, and while we havn't had a rolling blackout for a while (I'll assume it was May 8th) I know plenty of places that were hit 5-6 times during the first part of the year (I just love block 50;-). Thanks to more power plants opening (AFAIK 3 opened in or around June) we should see quite a few less stage 3 emergancies, if any, this year. =)
Let me clairfy. The link I provided was for the people who are trying to do it correctly. I am most definitly not trying to troll, I am a proud user of OpenBSD.
The core team also doesn't have many SMP machines to do the testing on. But there are some people who are working on it. I don't have a link, but I remember Theo, or one of the core members, mentioning several things that would have to be done to enable SMP properly. I am not a programmer, so I don't have all of the details, but you could contact the SMP team, and inquire them for status, and for any assistance you can offer.
That my friend is the BSD license. You can use that software for any use, commercial or non. There is no clause for it to remain open source, and they even removed the advertising clause (you had to say that part of your code was copyright UCB regents, etc etc etc)
We are halfway to the email virus. We already have a scripting language that us (almost) universaly supported. (sh) All we need is an email client that auto-magicaly runs attachments. (The major reason why the Outlook viruses are an issue, is cause the users don't turn off/don't know how to turn off the auto-magic running of attachments.)

Wu-FTP is not in OpenBSD, and ftp is disabled by default. Wu-FTP is not included with all major distributions, but possibly in Linux ones.
You're a nit. You're a nit. Here's another one!
They stand to lose a lot of goodwill if they wait too long.
You are making a flawed assumption. You are assuming they have goodwill in the first place.

Except you have no freedom. You have to live by the landlords rules. Hardly what I'd call a win-win.

I think that's one of the points he's going for.
Who wants linux everywhere?
Linus does. World domination through linux.
you do relize that a computer shouldn't NEED 512Mb of ram just to run an OS right?

If you drink it on private property, and don't leave the property, and it is completly out of your system when you leave, then it's legal.
I've had cops come to many of our parties, but as long as we don't leave the property until we're compleatly sober, we don't get in trouble. =)

Did at any point in time, anything associated with the crime possibly cross an international line? Yes? CIA.
FBI = Within the US (but not out)
CIA = Outside the US (but not in)

I find it interesting that in the USA, the bill of rights doesn't apply if your under 18.
