    from the looks of it, seems like a nice book but what we need is, a book that beats people into submission so that they make READABLE perl .. 99% of the perl i look at makes me want to kill someone.. (i make sure someone else is in the room)

    tell me exactly what is the point of this tech if not the be bad with it.. any good thing doesn't require you to hide behind anything. personaly i think people should be fully accountable for what they do.. allowing them to remove that they will just move to doing bad things. i know it can be used for good but so can just doing it normaly.. i under stand the reason behind it - it is neet, but it is only going to be abused.

    to be honest.. for the first bit FOREVER.. but after that jsut send block changes. i don't do on-line persay as between locations.. we use Server 2003 - each server has it's own full backup but the two servers also share all files via dfs - all the clients connect via dfs - so the clients get directed to their local server or the remote server if the local isn't online - and when files change between servers they update each other by only sending the block changes. so if you don't have horridly evil programs that delete the file and rewrite it as a way of saving the updates don't take long at all. if you have the option and the bandwith for something like this.. i recomend it.

    why eactly is MS sueing google.. shouldn't they be going after the person that switched jobs.. i mean isn't he the one that agreed to MS's terms and violated them? i can under stand google standing up for him but does MS have the right to direct the charges at google?? someone help me with this one i am confused personaly i hope we get some neet court sketches from this.. you know where they make some peoples heads the size of their egos

    i was talking about materials.. don't flame me.. in my mind when i pay say 50$ for bf2 i am paying for the material and the content when it comes to WoW what does that 50$ go to when you consider that 15$ a month is not just a server maintence fee i mean realy if it cost them that much per player to manage servers someone is robing them blind.. i am more willing to belive that they are making you pay 50$ for the game to pay for materials and to content - then charging you 15$ a month (i know SOME not all goes to maintence) jsut because they can. if i buy a game and i pay for the content (say bf2) it has a single player i can play it as much as i want, now take WoW you pay 50$ you still have to pay 15$ a month for the content. it all falls back to having to pay someone to use something you bought.. it just doesn't make sence

    the problem with your analogy is that a NIC doesn't have to be used only for internet service a TV doesn't have to be used only on cable a DVD player doesn't have to be used only for DVD's you buy WoW can only be used with their montly service.. all i was saying is that if they expect us to play 15$ a month to play then don't expect us to pay 50$ for a game in a box that costs 5$ to make.. in all reality they are jsut taking more of your money.

    personaly i think we should break everyones addiction.. not that WoW isn't a good game.. i just can't fathom paying for a game and then paying monthly to play it.. the need to pick one.. give us the game (or charge media cost only) and charge us monthly or sell us the game and be done with it.. i am glad this Dupe thing has started it makes it less worth while for people to pay monthly.. although i do wonder how they are storeing the items on the server side.. and why they don't have id's on the items to prevent this.. following the steps to make dupes i can see exactly why it is happening but personaly the server should throw a flag that a dupe item exist.. and here are all the ones.. and even for gold.. i mean there is a reason that in the real world we put serial numbrs on all our bills

    maybe it is jsut in my mind that it would make more sence.. to have everyone use the same time.. instead of using the same numbers but with diffrent meaning.. to me time is a constant not something that needs a layer of confusion added to it to make people feel good..

    actualy it would make it easier.. instead of calcing it all out i would say "HI i work 9-5" the would be "Hi i work 4-12" now we know we over lap 4-5 quite simple realy.. but to do it right you need to use 24 hour time none of this am pm crap.. it wouldnt' make sence any more anyways

    i have always agreed with this..

    it is stuipd for every one to have a 9-5 job.. i have to deal with people over seas all the time and it has gotten to the point were i have 5 clocks on my wall - one for each place.. so i don't wake them up.. ijust can't kep track of how many hours ahead are they and what time is it there

    if we all used the same damn time it would make sooooo much more sence.. the fact that you can have a flight and you have to set your watch BACK becuse you landed before you left..

    and when you live near a time zone switch.. dealing with what time stores are open.. it is crazy

    and DST does nothing but make it more confusing.. hell the only time i know it changes is becuse my computer tells me. and honestly from the looks of it.. that might not work right (at least for a while)

    does that mean we can start sueing linux distros becuse they don't have a content rating - have you read the doc's, my god there.. there is something that needs a mature rating really i don't get the big deal.. who is the government to decided what minors can see, i always thought that it was the parents job but you never know.. the way we have been out sourcing lately that job might go to china.

    i have been using a 2xP4 2.4 xeon with 2gb of ram and a ATI x800pro running 8xAGP i will note that the extra ram and mainly video memory makes it a whole lot better i tryed it on my tv witha P4 2.4 1gb ram and a AIT 9600pro and your right above 1024 blows but if you have the extra video ram (x800pro has 256) it runs like a champ.. i can run 1600x1200 in high (just don't turn on AA or your computer will want to kill it's self) what i do hate is having the wait 5-10 min for the shader optimization every time i screw with my settings.. and i agree with some of the posts about the ranked server crap .. i agree only play on ranked server.. i don't agree that only their little money brothers can host ranked server.. that is BS

    humm i don't know about you but all the nice ip phones i have used are PoE - they might also have a power block option but they all work fine on PoE

    it is quite nice.. mix it whit my cisco 2900-24 and it is like i have a siwtch and a pbx all in one..

    now if only i could plug the t1 right into the switch - that would save me some time

    for me.. well i already have my full time job.. personaly i don't want a CS major - here they ONLY offer java.. and i am sorry but i like .. well just about any thing else..

    i have about 50 users.. all their e-mails are every were on the net as they are all key contacts for biz i get about 50,000 - 65,000 e-mails through a month.. about 15-25,000 are good.. but the use hardly ever sees them.. and i have about equal amounts of spam and virus e-mails yaeee for SpamAssian and ClamAV on a send mail proxy.. so our mail server only has to deal with bad addresses and good mail...

    You could alwasy use Opera.. while there are exploites for it.. most people can figure them out to use them or don't bother becuse well .. not many use it..

    and ActiveX who needs that.. Opera doesn't know what to do with them..

    now that is one hell of an idea right there.. set apache up to handel being the tracker or at least some nice interface for it.. people go to get a file and it gives them the torrent.. with that box as the tracker and a seed.. and well that would be neet.. sounds like a simple thing to do realy, if you have the time
