interestingly I have had localized brown outs in parts of my house....

I have underground power and water got into the line.. and one of the legs would drop in voltage for no reason.. so instead of 2 120v legs coming in I had 1 120 and 1 60v leg.. when say the heater would cut on power would bleed across from one leg to the other and things would work but when it turned off anything that was on the 60v side would brown out..

it was odd as hell.. if I unplugged my fridge then half the house would start working again .. none of it made since - that is until I realized that my power meter wasn't working (one of the new digital ones).. as soon as I turned off the main breaker the power meter would boot up and be good.. so I called the power company.. they strapped a solid state transformer to my house for a week so I could live off of 1 120v leg until they could repair the line...

but due to over doing UPS's .. none of my computers ever lost power.. hell I was online playing games during the last few hurricanes..

personaly i would (for the first time in my life) go to best buy and get their exchange waranty so i could jsut go down there - throw it at them and grab a new one.... for like 50$ you can get it and it lasts 2 years past the MS waranty.. so that is what.. 5 years now.. personaly i hope we evolve to something new in that time frame..

crap i used MS and evolve in the same post - damnit did it again - someone shoot me now...

the sad part is MS has done two warranty extentions.. while yes the 360 seems to fail alot and MS is going to lose alot of money.. i can say one thing.. they are saving face and are doing a good job.. if i was going to get a consol it would be either A: a 360 or B: a Wii (if they add dvd playback and i could find one) - but i refuse to let my self own a consol cause it would be a very bad thing for me

i knew what you ment i was just trying to draw out an important statement "that code itself isn't illegal, it's how the code is used that leads to the potential commission of a crime"

the fact here is that Sony placed the Code on to CD's and sold them there by committing a crime.. the company that wrote it did not infact commit a crime..

Sony might have a leg to stand on if the program was delivered out of spec but in the end it was Sony that committed the crime..

if i buy a gun and expect it to be loaded with blanks and aim it at someone and shot - but a real bullet came out - who is the one that killed the person on the other end.. yes blame lands on both but ultimtly i pulled the trigger - i should have checked the chamber to make sure it was a blank..

Sony should have inspected the program before distrubting it, there for the blame still lands with them..

well here comes the question - they own the copyright - they knowingly put their material out there for people to download - and even created a site that inticed people to download it.. as far as i can see they where just giving it away.

on the other hand they also installed spy ware on users computers without letting them know ahead of time - that is aginst the law in some states - it is on the same lvl as alotof the viruses out there.

and if they try to doge the the fact that "they" put it out there by saying it was this "company that does the dirty work" then you point the finger and say - hey did this company have distrubution rights? if not then they are in alot of trouble - if so then they gave the stuff away - and if they say that the company doesn't have distrbution rights but what they where doing wasn't violating the their copyright then well damn many people will be happy to see them say that cause that can be applied so many ways..

all and all this was EXTREAMLY STUPID of them - and i can only pray that they get their asses burned when they try to take someone to court from this thing
