In your last case, I would say it's just a file transfer...though, if you had to use the term, you're making one machine upload to another, so I'd still say upload...maybe remote upload?
About your subject: I believe I heard that what the ewoks were saying was actually based on an African language, Ewokee (sp?). It was a long time ago though that I heard this...pretty sure in a "making of."
Actually, I've thought of this before, and thought it would interesting to engineer and release into thw wild, viruses that "turn off" weak genetic traits...I really don't know enough about this to say which conditions are genetic, and by "turn off" I just mean to either surpress them or remove them from a person's DNA makeup so they don't get passed along...for instance Cistic Fibrosis (again I'm not sure if this is a genetic disease that is passed along)...perhaps a better example would be something like genetic heart disease.
Of course the problem with using technology like this is, at what point do we draw the line? What if something we remove now, later on becomes something that actually helps survive?
Just to give an idea, I did a lot of digging awhile back to find out how it rated against atomic/nuclear weapons, and estimates said it was about 1/7th as powerful as Hiroshima. It was the largest man-made explosion up until Hiroshima.
Everyone thinks he's gotten canned for posting the picture, when the guy himself states that's not the reason he was let go.
In his post, he mentions the building he works in, and that it's part of MS Shipping/Receiving. You may think that's no big deal, but let's say you were casing the place to make a heist. Every snippet of information like this would help. Couple with the fact that he's just a temp and posting semi-sensitive information in an area (shipping/receiving) that he has nothing to do with...well they'd be silly to *not* take some action. Though I think they should have taken him up on the offer to take the story down as well, but they probably didn't want the legal hassle, especially since it was on an independant server, of freedom-of-speech.
He wasn't fired for the photo, but for posting that he works in the MSCopy building, and that it's the same building as MS Shipping/Receiving. Now, you may think that's not such a big deal, but if someone were planning to heist some gear, a snippet of information here and there like this, would allow you to somewhat "case" the place without ever having to go there.
To top it off, the guy is just a temp, and posting somewhat sensitive information from an area that is A) private and B) has nothing to do with him (note the part where he says "on my way to work" -- imagine someone stopping by where you worked and taking a picture of your work area, you'd probably feel somewhat violated if they posted it online).
I actually turned this service off back when I first installed...what exactly is it good for? I see tons of "services" running, that I'm assuming don't necessarily need to be (though I've learned through trial-and-error that turning some off, breaks things).
Personally I'd use Gaim over Trillian except that Trillian will show my individual status on each protocol, as well as any mail sitting in my Yahoo/hotmail accounts; Gaim does not. Gaim *does* pop up a notice if you get new mail (at least in Hotmail), but if you ignore that popup, it's gone.
Otherwise, Gaim is much more lightweight, if it had the above two features, I would use it instead.
It's a nice idea, but the guy trained for 3 years just to do this, and there were a couple of moments where he almost screwed up...so it might be possible for special forces, but it might be a huuuge risk when there's other more conventional means.
Also, now I'm wondering what kind of drift they'd all have from each other from a +30-mile journey (I now also wonder how far the guy actually travelled, being 22 miles up and going 30 across).
Just not more time-travel plotlines...
This reminds me of my friend who programmed the voice-command dialer in his phone, so when he says "I'm drunk!" it calls a cab company.

Wasn't this the plotline to Airwolf?
Hey, thanks for hinting to possible endings to the movie right on the damn front page.
"You keep using that word....I do not think it means, what you think it means."

1) Don't leave lid open on 'experimental' nanites while working late-night on a school project.
2) Should this happen, be sure to let an adult know immediately instead of trying to quietly solve the problem yourself.
3) Should they multiply and infect the computer core, do not try to fry them out of the core; results will be disastrous.
What the hell? That sounds like a little girl's name. Maybe they should call it something like Red Queen?
"You're all going to die down here..."

Ahh, alcohol...the cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems...
Are you kidding?! Most people that I've seen, yapping on the phone while driving, may as well be in Sensory Deprivation Tanks...
...and here I am using my real legs like a sucker!
We can stop them by sending wave after wave of soldiers at them until each killbot hits it's preset kill-limit and shuts down!
You know how people will say about someplace on Earth,"If the Earth were to get an enema, [insert name] is where they'd stick the tube."
I wanna see the Martian equivalent.
