I dont think planeshift will ever make it out of beta.
I remember seeing an elite based game, with space trading, etc, but also the ability to walk around the space stations, but I really cant remember what it was called. Certainly if none of us can remember it, it probably doesnt exist anymore.
Real shame.
Are there any other MMOPG (i know this is off topic a little) that are like elite (other than eve online), and that are preferably free?
I was told once that there was one, open source too, yet never found it!

As well noted the US has a history of thieving other countries technology on the pretence that they're going to "share" the result. If I remember rightly (although I cant find any information to back this up) they asked to see alot of our development files on the Eurofighter, saw what brillient research we had done, and stole it to produce parts of the F22.
Still if they share the source code on this maybe things will change. I wonder what its written in anyway!

We've had something like this at a few schools in the uk for ages now. At one girls school I used to visit they had cards that monitored their meals, due to problems with anarexia, miss a couple of meals in a row...bam...visit from the doctor.
To be honest though, you Americans need this more than anyone else..

although, XMBC is amazing. V useful with the official xbox remote. I hardly ever use my pc to play back movies anymore. (appart from the media center pc)
I've been running media centre pc 2005 on our plasma screen for a while now... and although its good at tv, its complete rubbish when it comes to web interfaces, remote control and most of all the music library! It can take over 5 minutes to load, and there no option to organise on directories instead of media tags!
