" Few, though, can match the slick ease of use of RealPlayer 11 -- and it isn't even out of beta yet."
Don't worry! By the time it's out of beta they'll have added tonnes of extra bulky bloated features and loads of great ads! It'll be as slick as sandpaper!;)
In a few weeks, I bet we see a very interesting posting at The Daily WTF about "John Smith" who worked at the tax agency of "an unspecified industrialized nation"...
I admit I only skimmed the article, but it seems like what they're saying is "make yourself cross-dicipline if you want a good job!"...and probably in a second dicipline that is very different from a primary CS/IT/Eng. I kinda wish I'd had the time/energy/money to do a double-major in school. I do still plan to go back within the next couple years though...
Apparently, my cousin has Ethernet over Power, that was installed by The Internet Service Guy...
It would be interesting to see what happens if you ran Ethernet over Power on a system powered by Power over Ethernet... who would win? an epic battle, to be sure!...or maybe they would cancel each other out, and you'd just get regular ethernet?...or maybe it would be like a divide-by-zero, and your NIC would explode?:P
Maybe I missed it the first time around, but did Apple actually explicitly state that they would use x86 chips? I was under the impression that they would have their own special chip design from Intel...
so where can I buy it? and what about that lightsabre they did an article on a while ago, I still can't find one like in the article. But it's real, just like the batsuit. right? Right?? RIGHT??!?! OH GOD DON'T TELL ME IT'S JUST ANOTHER PRANK!!!!!!! AAAAAAH!
what if the "house" crashed? how do you reboot a house? I'd love it if my house had a handy button around back that when pushed, recovered the house from the most recent disaster (flood, fire, termites, in-laws, etc...) that struck it.
The town near my aunt's cottage went totally wireless when some drunk driver knocked over the pole that connected them to everything else... I didn't rtfa though, so maybe this isn't the same thing...
Yes, but it sounds like everytime their computer gets infected, the entire residence gets brought down. It's better to unplug these students, so that everyone else can get their work done.
Maybe they should have "Safe Computer" certificates or something... having one would show that you have installed the proper anti- virus/spyware software and are at least making an attempt to keep the computer clean.
i dunno... might be worth a try...

More like:
"I need TCP for my Bunghole!"

Quick! Somebody call the Rock! I'm sure HE can handle this!
I wonder if the birth certificate/immigration papers of the 300 millionth kid/immigrant says something like this:
"Congratulations!!! You are our 300,000,000th person!!! Please click here to claim your special prize!!
(void where prohibited)"
"News for Nerds, Stuff that matters."
How does a long MySpace outage count as either?

Am I hallucinating or did that GIMP icon on the slashdot page just twitch its eyes? creepy, that dog thing is watching me...
Hmm... so now GIMP has a photoshop-like interface. Sounds good, because where it is right now, only a CLI could be worse.
I knew I was delighted when I read the name of the moon... until I realized it's not "Enchiladas"... :(
I hope the cars of the future can fly... they've been promising it for years.... ;)

I want to know what odds the people in Vegas are giving to Mercury. I've got a lucky feeling about that planet!

I'm going to submit a modded version of Eliza. It will win by confusing the other bots into submission! :) :P
