google.org is your answer. but there isn't one person at Google that is worth as much as Bill Gates is. yes they are a large company that makes a lot of money, particularly more than Microsoft, but the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is what raises and donates money. As individuals I should add. Respectfully. MS as a whole doesn't do much donating besides charging less for their licensing in 3rd world countries. google has given the world free access to loads of information and tools. their profit pays for their massive amounts of employees. we're comparing apples to oranges here. but i understand and agree with you to a certain degree. but to say they aren't sticking to their motto is just a little preposterous.

If you can find a good ol' OEM installation disc from your favorite torrent site, she'd probably be pretty happy with a nice clean installation of windows without the junk..

regardless of the amount of legitimate websites that are a part of that 1 trillion, Google always deserves positive recognition in my opinion. i really wish to see them grow even bigger than they are because of all the incredibly helpful things they have provided for humanity and mostly free of charge. i really hope to see more businesses especially, start using Google's online services a lot more. such as Google Docs, Google Calendar and Gmail. So many businesses in small towns are tricked in to wasting their money on Microsoft licensing because they simply aren't aware of any other solutions. Between the amount of money that is wasted on MS Exchange and MS Office, think of the money that could be saved. when you think of how big Google is, you still don't think about the fact that the majority of people have no idea what other services Google provides other than their search engine, or if they are lucky they may have seen Google Earth on one of their friend's computers. there are many uneducated people out there that don't know even 3/4ths of the services that Google provides. it sounds stupid, but unfortunately it's true and I can only imagine what some business owners would think if there was an absolutely free version of the software they use on a regular basis.

working in the PC repair shop business for over 8 years I'd have to disagree to a certain point. there is still plenty of money in repairing because first of all, people don't want to buy a new computer all the time. at least in my small town, people think of a computer as an investment and plan on keeping it for a good 3+ years. in which case, being that so many new computers are duds due to mass production, they are more than happy to hire the services of a repair shop to clean up viruses, fix program errors, troubleshoot internet connection problems, replace hardware, and so forth. All so that they don't need to go out and buy a new machine and worry about migrating all their old data. surprisingly, the average user that is addicted to their machine wouldn't want to start over again from scratch. plus, people shouldn't be buying cheap shitty machines that they plan on replacing every 2 years or less. get a good warranty, good hardware, and feel good about what you bought rather than complain about it, like the people that hate Vista because they buy an Emachine with a Celeron Processor and 512mb of RAM.

I love the loud clacky keys and it's always a crowd pleaser when visitors are checking out the office space. Overall, I wish it was about 75% cheaper because that is what it's worth. I personally have never used AV software in my whole life and encourage people to practice safe browsing habits rather than whore up their computers, but if they're going to be idiots that look at goat porn, then I think Panda suffices for most people.. It runs the least amount of services and process that I've seen in any AV software, and it is equally as effective.. The thing that has been killing me lately is Comcast customers.. They Comcast techicians come out to your house and install their Security Suite and for fuck's sake you might as well destroy the person's computer.. My bottom line is that AV software is bullshit and it should be up to Microsoft to protect their users with a stable operating system..
