Many of the best landmarks would be extremely difficult to find with a map. I visited some of the ancient dolmen in the Burren and the GPS took me right there. Even with GPS they were tough to spot - a pile of rocks in a field that is nothing but a bunch of rocks. With a map - wow, that would be tough.
Well actually you seemed to have only found a pile of rocks in a field. The dolmen in Burren is really really impressive. There are some rock piles just down the road though. Seems like GPS kinda failed you.
Whole new meaning for "His Noodley Appendage"
Actually, there is a body of research that suggests this was the original meaning, but that the faith has been corrupted and twisted with time.
So what do you expect the teacher to do? Disrupt the others while she gives the smart girl 20 minutes of one on one attention?
I think I saw a documentary about teachers doing that one time. I'm pretty sure some of the attention would be illegal in grade school.
I, President of Guntenhimen University, do present to rtb61 on this the nineteenth day of June an honorary Doctorate for his exemplary work in promoting and producing Bullshit.
I am truely impressed.

The local populace are still oppressed, they are still murdered and humiliated by various local and nonlocal groups including Al Qaeda and US armed forces. You mean of course murdered by their fellow countrymen how happen to disagree with their interpetation of the Prophet's words? IANAIE(Iraq expert) (not that that matters around here) but my understanding is we're just sort of sitting in the middle of a civil war that was kicked up when we removed the common enemy. Personally, I say F* 'em and let them kill each other cause it's not worth the price we're paying.
He's not complaining about how much he paid in loans he's complaining that he can't deduct the interest like most people can which is reasonable. If you make 76k why shouldn't you be able to deduct the same as someone who makes 74k for you student loans. That said you can only deduct 3k in interest on school loans anyway per year.
I suspect it had more to do with the timing. UT3 and TF2 came out right after it. I liked the demo alot, but didn't get it cause I wanted to see tf2 and UT3 first. I have limited time and money, so I was only going to get one of those 3. I ended up with tf2 not because it was a better game but because my friends were all playing it.
what arrogance, to assume that being elected implies not being expert or independent
Where are you from that the assumption is arrogant? I definitely live in the "sad but true" part of the world and would like to come there.
The only way to win is not to play. See it's exactly that kind of pussyfooting around that's causing this "global warming" thing today. They knew back in the 50s and 60's that fossil fuels would cause warming, and they pushed it to counter the nuclear winter!
I had it explained to me as they have sufficiently good autopilots to land the planes on the planes now except in really bad conditions, but the pilots still land the planes not because they need to but because they want to stay current. They need to be able to land in good weather with ease so that when they have to land they can. but IANAP so include 1 grain of salt...
IIRC, without locking doors there is a pilot and a co-pilot. The stewards/esses don't know how to fly the plane, and a kid who plays flightsims does not replace a pilot a la Snakes On A Plane.
Sorry to thread jack, but I think everybody needs to see this and I don't want it lost down the discussion...
Everybody in the US of A write your senator tonight! This nonsense needs to stop, and maybe a response from the constituents would make them at least think twice in the future. Don't do what I've done in the past and get incensenced and not do anything. Don't whine on a/. write the letter. Maybe it won't do anything, but we should at least put our effort where our mouths are.
That said try to present a reasoned arguement instead of a rant, or just be short and quick and say you're against it.
You obviously are an outlier in that you can do that. Some of us (most of us? 2nd longest commute in US represent!) in dc don't live within biking distance to work. Before you say "move closer to work", I don't particulary want to live in SE DC, but find it necessary to work there.
Yeah seriously. If you have an addictive personality or predisposition to addiction, alot of times you replace one "drug" with another. I mean you stop drinking and play WoW, you're not as much of a danger to yourself or others, but you sure as hell aren't "better"
Why not put a padlock on your cutlery draw too? After all a minor (under 18) might hurt themself with a steak knife.
Actually, over in the UK they are pretty much advocating that sort of thing.
But I agree it's about teaching the kids to be decent people and then letting them be or not be. That said it's more easily said than done.
It's because they're silicone! Not because they're round! Gah.
Ha! I bet this string of highly redundant replies all made within about 15 min will teach you to ask questions like this on slashdot again!
There is one. It uses OLEDs for keys. It cost like $1200. Optimus keyboard or something.
Maybe the cool places should all jam these "emanation".
But then all the people in the know would realize that the "black holes" on the map is where it was really happening.
Also,
[Insert joke about jam and emanation(sic) here]
my personal experience is that the Apple hardware is far superior and requires less upgrades and that is why the cost is much more. Supply and Demand.

That is all you can go back to trolling now.
Hawking was fine until ~college, so unless we're allowing post 4th trimester abortions he would still be here...
