Look, I understand that it's inconvenient to change your passwords ever 128 Billion years, but that's the sort of inconvenience you'll have to live with if you want security..
Saying that images are a core feature of the web really depends on what you use it for. I can use Slashdot, check my mail, do google searches, check out Wikipedia.. all without any images.
Going back to your TV example, sometimes I'll turn on the news and go into another room where I can still hear it. Sure, the news is more entertaining when you can see the kitten that got rescued, but sometimes all you want is the text.
Problem with that is that employers tend to abuse with "Oh you should be able to make 10 widgets in an 8 hour day", but it turns out very few people can make 10 widgets in a day, and the people who can are making the same amount of money, and the people who can't are making less (seems like a situation that would piss everyone off except the corporate overloads).
I think the idea is that he did it because it's someone else's copyright (or in this case he had good reason to assume it would be eventually).
The problem with people snatching up domain names based on someone else's copyright is that it just makes it harder for the real owner to get the site, and the person snatching up the domain name isn't adding anything to the internet, they're just trying to get some cash from a big company.
The whole point of Anonymous is that anyone could say that they are Anonymous. There's no real group/code/leader, so anyone who says they are Anonymous IS.
Have you tried Cygwin? It's sort of a pain, but in some ways it seems to work better than Wine. Also there's a project that's supposed to be a port of the Linux kernel for Windows (I know, sounds strange..). I've never tried it, but here's andLinux.
Anything interested for Linux gets ported to Windows sooner or later. Just recently Evolution for Windows was released. Also, check out the KDE for Windows project. They've ported pretty much everything but Kicker (which I think they assume is pointless since Windows comes with Explorer).
How is Google a monopoly? Sure they control 80% of the search business, but that doesn't stop anyone from using any other search engine. I can go to Yahoo, MSN, or a thousand other smaller search engines. The reason I go to Google isn't because it's the biggest company, it's because it works the best.
My problem with Linux is actually the exact opposite. Usually things crash all the time in Windows, but it almost never takes Windows all the way down. In Ubuntu I frequently get crashes that either lock the system up so badly that I can only control the mouse and everything else is frozen, or everything including the mouse locks up (and trying to switch to another screen never seems to work). I might just be an Ubuntu/Debian/Gnome issue though..
Why exactly is Chrome crap? It loads in 1/4th of the time it takes for Firefox to load, you can do things while pages load (like switch to other tabs) without lagging, not to mention that Webkit gets a 100/100 on Acid 3 (Chrome is at 79/100, which I assume is a combination of them not using the most recent build, and using a different javascript engine). For comparison, Gecko's at 85/100.
If you want a fast disk, get some i-RAM (you'll probably want it doing constant backups to a normal hard drive). It's expensive, and you max out at 4 Gb (unless you put it in some sort of RAID), but it's hellafast. With the price of 1 GB sticks of RAM, you could probably do 4 in RAID 0 for around $500 (is 16 Gb enough space?).
I think the question of who's orders should it obey, yours or the doctors is pretty obvious. I doubt many people would want robots who 3 times a day tackle them and force feed them pills..
Actually his market share would be 1/(number of people who use search engines), which is slightly larger than 0.
This says $2.7 trillion in 1989 = $4.46 trillion in 2007 (no data for 2008 yet).

Wikipedia lists ~1200 charges on a Lithium Ion battery, but there's a [citation needed], so I can't give you a better source :(
Where did you get all that from "Apple doesn't want a potential competitor to use any of their code"?

Just because you like OSX doesn't mean you have to like their hardware.

If the kid can pass the class without being in it, why are we forcing them to take it anyway?
Or in means that M$ in confident in it's future. I think I'd prefer to invest in something I controlled.

I also like how it changes between XBMC (Xbox Media Center) and XBMC Media Center (Xbox Media Center Media Center).

Why the hell does a public organization have patents?

Same thing happened to me with Half-life. Can't use it without paying them more money. Fuck Steam.

On another note.. Webkit takes performance seriously.
Not that I think all browsers should use Webkit, but it's certainly not crap.

Why would you want your OS in ROM? Even Windows has updates occasionally. I don't think I'd want to buy a new chip every time..
I assume by "banned" they meant that you can't grow hemp here, even if it's so shitty that no one would want to smoke it.
Considering you can only download it on two computer, all of their videos should be considered "rentals".
