This seems to be the business model/.ers have been yelling at the RIAA to adopt. Let's see if it's actually viable...
I sure hope so. I buy pretty much 1-2 CDs a year now -- not because I pirate the songs, it's because I don't want to spend $15 on 2 songs. Being able to only buy the stuff I like could also allow independent labels to get some of the action. It would be great if an artist without a label could also hook into this service, so 5 million OS X users could have a shot at your song instead of the 30 people that go to the local bar.
consider having the computer in another room.
maybe upstairs.
Bluetooth only has an effective range of 30 feet. I haven't tried Romeo yet, but Clicker is very sweet. I can use a Y cable to connect my PowerBook to my home stereo system and then control iTunes from the couch or kitchen. PowerPoint/Keynote users will also love these apps, as you don't have to use the keyboard/mouse to advance slides.
Why when I refresh the page does it keep switching between an AMD logo/topic and an iBook graphic? Has the top secret Apple/AMD project come to fruition as a Newton replacement or something?:)
I think most of us can agree that M$ has the concept "simplicity of use" pretty well grasped from a typical user standpoint.
I disagree. MS has the concept of "usability through inability", as in its software is usable because people are unwilling or unable to switch to something else because of how well entrenched Microsoft is. Look at the Pocket PC and tell me that is simple to use from a user's standpoint when compared to the Palm OS.
Instead of posting on the same story twice, how about posting about the updated iMacs and eMac price cuts? eMac now starts at $999, and iMac tops out at 1GHz with Airport Extreme and Built-in Bluetooth.
Once you have control over the OS you can run almost any software you want on it. You could turn it into a complete organizer, not just a portable audio player and storage device.
It does this already. iSync lets you store Address Book and iCal data on your iPod. Pretty slick too.
Wouldn't one of the reasons that iCommune got pulled is because Apple is probably building in Rendezvous support for iTunes into iTunes 4? They don't want to be beaten to the punch, and a third party offering "Rendezvous-like" functionality goes against Apple's plan.
I think it had more to do with the terms of the iTunes SDK agreement. There is an Apache module that enables website sharing over Rendezvous, but Apple has left that alone, and I'm sure that functionality will be in OS X eventually.
Safari, Apple's new web browser, has a Google bar in its slimmed-down interface, so Google is getting a few wins these days. You can even click the magnifying glass and pull up past searches.
I don't see Google going away anytime soon. I've never heard of those other engines and do not have any interest in them.
I read a bunch of user reviews before buying a new phone a couple of days ago, and the T68i was widely panned for its poor physical design and shoddy workmanship while the 6310i was praised for physical design and quality of workmanship.
I have a T68i and have had no problems with it. Some have complained about the size of the buttons, but it hasn't been a problem for me.
I'm not a graphic design type but I do need a program to use when I am creating web sites... there's not a chance I'm gonna spend $600 or so on PhotoShop when all I have to do is resize and image and maybe a crop or two...
Heck if that's all you're doing, you can just use the free iPhoto application and save your $20 for Graphic Converter. I recently found iPhoto's red eye feature and it works really well.
I want a book for someone that is a Mac/Windows user that shows how to setup a small office server. I use Mac OS X exclusively at home and want to turn an old (P2/450) Dell into a Linux server. I want it to run DNS, DHCP, File sharing (NFS?), email, MP3 streaming, and web. All of this I want to control from my Mac, so I would rather do it all from the command-line. Is there a book that can help me?
When the pics were posted, most people said "No way!" and came up with a bunch of reasons for the pics to be fake... then it turned out they were real. I doubt there were any lost sales from the knowledge, as everyone was expecting PowerMac updates of some type anyway.
Apple used to include free MP3s with some of its models so people could use them with iMovie and iTunes. Sure the music was mostly instrumental or public domain, but at least it was free and didn't require an Internet connection to unlock.
Your sentence.
"but this damn thing is to slowwwwwwww"
suggested grammar and spelling.
"but this damn thing is too slow"
GRAMMAR AND SPELLING CHECK COMPLETE: 15 minutes 23 seconds 67 ms
Actually, had you been using Omniweb for Mac OS X, it would have underlined your misspellings in red as you typed them.
I agree. One more reason for PC users to say "See? Mac users are weirdos." I switched to the Mac last year, but that doesn't mean that I think everyone in the world should be using it. Just those that don't want to have as many computer problems.:)
at the middle of the galaxy was some calm looking planet with a grey-haired guy that Sybok is looking for. Thanks for bringing up horrible memories of ST:V!

New slogan: Listen different. :)

Address Book remains open after closing all of its windows.
Address Book edit mode now includes an Undo feature.

Where can I find out how to do this?

There is something fishy about the smell of this program. ;)
I thought the big beef was with software patents, not hardware ones.

Methinks that Dvorak has been reading Slashdot too much and is starting to let the Soviet Russia jokes get to him.

Of course, the new name would be the United States Space Station, aka USSS. :)

Beo--oh nevermind. It's a tired old joke, even if it's appropriate here. :)
Whew! Now it is easier to to hide pr0n. :)

Hopefully Apple will add this functionality to iChat as well. I don't personally use ICQ, but there are plenty of folks who do.
