i could be wrong, but isn't that like faster than the communications between parts in a computer including RAM? is there a computer that can feed that much data that fast?
this should be filed under your rights online, since that is what will be disappearing soon. the terrorists are on the interwebs now. start up the survillence at the ISP level. if we happen to catch a people downloading music and movies, doubleplus good. osama is laughing his ass off watching us burn up our own constitution.
i remember the teacher saying no chewing gum unless u have enough the share enough with the whole class. interesting that he used a chewing gum analogy. so you would go to jail for two years for stealing gum? how about sharing gum? i guess all germans are expected buy their own gum and not ask friends for a piece.
while it's true that only mgt is more likely to use the collab features, they are also the ones deciding what to buy. while it looks like feature bloat, it also means that almost everyone will find what they need. it's not about everyone using everything, but everyone finding features they want/need.
i was at the apple booth at our vendor fair checking out the macbook pro. they had google earth running (i guess it's not ported to unibin yet) and it was taking up 140% of the cpu. i guess the monitor hasn't been updated.
seems they have already gotten their first lesson, they are petitioning to reverse the ban. my feeling is, you are in college. if you want to waste your time and college tuition reading/. in class, that's up to you. if you want to use the laptop as a tool to help you learn better, up to you also. if you don't want to use one at all, same. i understand faculty egos need constant massaging and they hate it when all eyes aren't on them. most college kids are old enough to go die in a war, let them use a friggin laptop.
i can see your point for home users, but most IT shops in big companies would rather die before having to upgrade the OS on desktops so often. that's why so many still use win2k. they way until a service pack or two, decide if it's worth the hassle, figure out how to automate things and lock things down, and then finally roll out. these kinds of places is where microsoft makes their big bucks.
that would really suck if true. it's not like we will be installing home edition on the podiums in classrooms. i guess no media for us. i doubt they would do this though.
also, the fact that when you are using higher bitrates, you will be access the disk more often. i'm sure there is some extra overhead involved when playing back drmed files, but different formats require different amounts of work to decompress. and using different bitrates also throws things off because you access the disk more often.
i agree with the reasons you give, but i was just saying he's gotta be enjoying the fact that we are voluntarily making our lives worse in response.
i guess your not concerned about online privacy, AC. btw, al-queda didn't have any influence in iraq til we showed up there.

aliens get abducted?
sound is familiar, like when apple switched to intel processors.

i'll believe it when i see it..
i thought blueray was going to have some hard coating developed by tdk to make them much more scratch resistant.
is it just me or does new technology take a while to get cheaper?
the article mentions itunes acc files. being that itunes is the largest distributor of drmed music files, i guess it's easy to file under apple.

starving ppl can just google food with their cheap computers. some needs have more urgency than others regardless of long-term benefit.
problem is... where would you plug it in?
iload? sound like bs
yes, ripping cds to your ipod is legal.. for now.
i use sync my cellphone with outlook, i tend to have my phone near me more often than my watch.
sounds like the submitter has a case of armchair quarterback.
donno, would using a smaller monitor/sitting further back help? i don't game but i would imagine this would help.
reminds me of chris rocks line "there isn't one white man in this room who would trade places with me.. and i'm rich! it's that good to be white."
