  1. I don't know if where I work is the exception but nearly all the managers come from a technical background. The way you become a manager is you win contracts for work for the people you manage. Much of the work we do is R&D so a nontechnical person has a hard time putting together a comprehensive proposals to win work.

  2. Kik is an anonymous IM service where you can invite friends to a board and you all post horrible things about other people.

  3. Either you believe the sky is falling and immediate drastic changes must be made or you are a climate denier? There are many more likely outcomes then those two, I've found that stupid tends to live on the extremes.

    Don't forget about blocking the shoulders with buses so that emergency vehicles can't get to the accident that is causing the traffic jam. There was a lot of stupid in this idea.

    Don't discount the effectiveness of a brick.
    German spies had a plan to disable the giant generators in New York that powered many of the trains through out the Midwest with pocket sand. All they had to do was throw the sand into the generators, they were spotted coming ashore at bar harbor in main off a u boat and apprehended shortly after that.

    You should read up on bit coin it is much less anonymous then using cash. There is a public electronic record for every transaction made.

  7. This is not a good technology for cell phones. It won't work indoors in my pocket out doors or when I have the phone out and the sensor and transmitter are not pointing at the satellite. Lasers are very directional which makes them great for transmitting to a couple of locations but transmitting to thousands is not something it does well, you would basically be turning the laser into a flashlight.

    This car is a concept car and is no where near a production model. There are two things concept cars are used for one is to put in radical designs that get people talking about your products. The other is to learn how to integrate new features into the car.

    It's hard to contradict a a person so great that the best food known to man was named after him.
    Secondly how would Knowledge=PE follow the 1st law of thermodnamics, what energy is converted when you learn?

    If DC decided they wanted to partner with a another car builder who would agree to make the cars to DC's standards and pay royalties to them they would have a hard time finding a company because someone else is building them and not paying royalties. That's why the outcome is correct Mark Towle was profiting off their property and limiting their ability to license that property.

    My solution to paper thin phones has been a phone case for some time. Protecting my phone from dropping it is an added bonus.

    Those two statements contradict each other.

    They don't you just have to have a little better understanding of maintenance on planes. Baring self healing paint there is no way to protect paint from rain hitting a plane at 400mph. The reason the B2 is kept out of the rain is to keep costs down, every plane has rain erosion issues but the cost to repair the paint on the B2 is much higher then for an F15.

    The question is will the Gun Shopping network actually increase impulse buys. Take my neighbor for instance, his car was broken into, by broken into I mean he left it unlocked and someone rummaged through it. He decided that he needed a gun to protect himself in-case someone decided to break into his house and slapped down $200 for a 9mm Hi-Point two magazines and 30 rounds. Impulse buys all ready happen having a shopping network won't likely change the rate at which guns are purchased.

    The problem is rain erosion they do not fly training missions in the rain as it is very costly to make repairs. There is no issue flying in the rain.

    None of your examples would be people voting against their self interest. A religious person voting for a pro life candidate because of their views on abortion would not fit as that person values the lives of unborn children more then their financial interests. What you value in life and what you think is in other people's best interest does not matter.

    People don't vote against their self interest, take welfare for example there are two kinds of people that voted for it, the ones who will benefit from it and the others who feel good about themselves for doing so. In my experience it is impossible to vote against your self interest it's just that people value different things more then others.

    Clearly she was just allergic to 2400, 3600, and 5000 MHz frequencies not 700, 750, 800, 850, 1700, 1900, 2100, 2300, 2500, or 2600MHz frequencies from cell phones.
