And, of course, if you're in a Wal-Mart home office - ISD building - distribution center - et al... and dial 911 - BOOM - you get Wal-Mart's private security?
I think a more ethical way to handle this is for the software to determine the return policy at the time of purchase, and then the customer has the opportunity to refuse to make the purchase under a no-returns condition. So the woman from the example in the article would have been prsented with the no-returns-from-you-anymore condition at the time of purchase, and she could have said "no thanks, good bye."
Wow, you were getting good margins on those hard drives. When I was working in a PC parts store we were lucky to make 10 points. Not suprisingly, they are out of business now.
The sound wave method is hot fusion because it is the heat and pressure that causes the fusion to occur, in fact similar conditions to the sun, just on a nanoscale. The palladium method as you describe it would be cold fusion if it were not completely bogus.
This effect on an extremely small scale appears to create the pressures and temperatures needed for deuterium to fuse with a neutron into tritium.
That is hot fusion, not cold fusion.

You're welcome, and thank you!
The Sigma is a great camera, with the only real problem being finicky low light performance. For that I have the Pentax K1000 film camera.
Anywho, I checked out your portfolio page and I really like the prismacolor cat drawing, and the dog photo. The other work is nice as well.
You're right, I do need to get around to updating my art page. In the mean time, you can see some of my photos here.

What you really need is a camera with interchangable lenses, so you can use high quality fixed length long lenses to get your shot. Forget about zoom lenses, especially the crappy ones that are built into non-interchangable-lens digicams. I would recommend getting a decent megapixel camera and a 20, 50, 100 or so, and maybe a 180 or 200mm lens for long shots. Of course, it really depends on what types of things you like to shoot. Keep in mind that most digicams will have a sensor that is smaller than the exposed area on a 35mm film camera, so you need to multiply the focal length of the lens by the size ratio to figure out what relative field of view you will get, for example, a 100mm lens on a Sigma SD10 would give you the same field of view that a 170mm lens would on a 35mm film camera.
I personally got the Sigma SD10 with the kit zoom lenses, which are actually quite decent, especally the 55-200 DC, but the 18-50 DC is not quite as sharp and suffers from CA. If I had it to do over again, I would get the SD10 body only, and the Sigma 50mm EX macro lens, 20mm EX, and then some longer lenses later on. As it stands, I'll probably get the 20, and then some longer M42 screw mount lenses (which fit with an adapter) to supliment.
Everyone knows that Android Scientist tech is totally useless, because it perminately takes up a population slot and can't be moved to another job. Now, if we could successfully research Autolabs, we could really leap ahead of the Klackons, and maybe even keep up with the Psilons!
Where I live (Vermont) there is no law against nudity per se, except where local laws prohibit it, example being South Burlington, which is sort of like the evil anti-Burlington. Anywho, you can be charged if you do anything indecent, but just being naked is not considered indecent, and it is possible to do something indecent without being naked. In other words, indecency is orthoginal to nakedness. Even so, the last time I actually witnessed any public nudity in Burlington was a couple of years ago. Hardly an epidimic of ugly naked people.
My son was at an overnight with a few friends and a movie was going to be shown. He asked what it was rated and got a couple of friends to go into another room and play cards (or a board game, I can;t remember. He's in bed now, or I would ask him). But I think that takes some maturity.
Hmmm. Seems to me that if they have enough maturity to make that decision, they have enough maturity to see the movie.
What I have read about the keyboard on the 49G+ is that it is painted on rather than the double injected plastic, and the clicks it makes are unrelated to the actual switching, so you can hear it click but it may not register the keypress. The first point may result in the markings disappearing from use, we won't know for a while anyway, and is disapointing but not that critical, imo; but the second point is a deal killer for me.
There are some things in language that evolve in the way you describe, but using "begs the question" incorrectly just sticks out like a glaring billboard that says "I am an ignorant boob."
In any case, how much harder is it to use the phrase "raises the question"?
iCab lets you set the referer to always, only within same domain, or never. Maybe there needs to be another setting to use the target domain. So, if someone clicked on a link in LJ to AOL the browser would say AOL is the referer. It wouldn't solve LJ's problem unless everyone started using a browser with that capability, but it would be a start.
Sooo, they are adding 20 TB/Month just to store additional duplicates of data that they already have? That's pretty silly.

What happens if you dial 9-911?

Have no fear, have no fear, you will be killed right away.
I carry around my gym shoes and a change of clothes in a $200 leather laptop case. That'll show 'em.
What is with that stupid front door on the drive bays? Why can't that design style just die already? It looks even more flimsy than ususal.
That's OK, I'll just set my VCR to 1972 again.
Bitter much?

I bet we'll get kids saying things like: "Dude, my parents want me to use Weed. How lame."

What about the Tengo?
It gets 0-60 in about 4 seconds, and a top speed of 130MPH. That is certainly better than 3.6 and 60.
Why not use a decentralized naming system based on public key crypto, and get rid of verisign and the rest of the leeches?
