I was just about to post this comment. It's completely unlike the rest of the stock tickets out there, where you have to click on a specific date range to see the picture. How this draggable interface will be useful to someone who wants to track the history of a stock over the course of a year though is open to debate.
At least according to the article we should get 'Batman Begins,' 'The Matrix' and 'Constantine,' on HD-DVD. Personally I think those are excellent choices. Maybe on this version of Batman Begins we can actually get some extra features.
All passwords must be a minimum of 8 characters long, have at least 2 numerics, 2 symbols, 2 capital letters and 2 lower case letters. Zero repeat characters, and no character can be used in the same position more than once in 16 months. Passwords must be reset every 28 days - no exceptions.
This above listed rule is stupid. Sure it SOUNDS good on paper, but it shows a lack of understanding about the whole point of the special characters, numbers, and capital letters. Having one of each of the above mentioned requirements is plenty - it exponentially increases the amount of time it would take to brute force the for upper and lower case letters you change the complexity from 26^8 to 52^8. Adding in the numbers makes it 62^8, and so on. Now, this doesn't preclude the use of rainbow tables to "instantly" crack that password... but then again nothing does - especially not the requirements you listed.
As for being able to prove it wasn't you, should someone hop on and do some dastardly deed, I'd be interested to know how.
Chances are, if they hop onto your protected network, they've been sniffing packets for a while. Everyone here should know that mac address spoofing is trivial. If they spoof their mac address to be yours, chances are you won't be able to prove that you didn't do it...

It may come as no surprise that the author of this article made so many logical fallacies in her rant. She probably hasn't taken English 101. Neither, apparently, has the web designer (who made at least two errors in the above quote).
Student is to perform a remote security evaluation of one or more computer systems. The evaluation should be conducted over the Internet, using tools available in the public domain.
At no point in this does the professor state to do it on a public computer. hell. port scan your own pc. Over the internet. Using nmap. Jesus. what is the world coming to when the "security professionals" can't read english or think outside of the box. It almost makes me ashamed that I read their site so often.
Give me a break...am I supposed to believe that the Netflix customer that gets 12 movies per week is some wide-eyed babe struggling to understand this brave new world of technology?
Bullshit.
The people getting throttled aren't "ignorant to new, abusive polices"; they have been scrutinizing the Netflix TOS and dreading this day's arrival. They know they got a good ride. Now the ride is over. Deal with it.
Actually, my wife wife and I just had a baby (well, she did all the hard work). My wife was just asking me last night how to add a header to a word document. Not two breaths later she was saying she had gained a reputation at work for being the tech savvy person in the office. When I was done laughing, I told her how to do the header thing.
While you may wonder what this has to do with netflix, my wife watches dvds from netflix all the friggin time. She only works 12 hours a week. The baby sleeps a lot. We don't even have a DVD burner.
Recently, my wife has been complaining that the netflix rentals have been taking longer and longer to arrive. It seems that every three day holiday weekend for the last few months we've had to go to Blockbuster to rent a movie - simply because there wasn't a netflix movie in the house. I'm emailing the link to my wife, and I guarantee we'll be considering alternate vendors.
I find Lasker (both of them) to be insanely dull. I recommend using a book on pure tactics like Seirawan's Winning Chess Tactics to get past the "I'm an average player" phase (when she gets there).
Ethernet: Marvell Yukon 88e8036 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller Supposedly, this works using the sk98lin module, but I've failed to get it to work three times now (I messed up some stuff on FC4 and had to reinstall it... hence the 3 times)
If a novice was forced to install both, I'd bet $100 that they'd get Linux installed properly first. A Linux install comes with most necessary drivers/software that you'll need. A novice Windows user would _never_ find the drivers needed for even an OEM system, like a Sony or HP, where all the drivers are centralized on one site, let alone searching out the drivers from each manufacturer. Linux installs are much easier than XP installs.
My.Ass.
I'm no novice when it comes to computers. I've been doing tech support for windows for years, I've been playing with knoppix for months, I've read a half dozen linux books and I study c++ and Cisco networking in college. I STILL haven't gotten my wireless or ethernet to work on either of the 2 linux OSs that I tried to install on my bright shiny brand new laptop. Clean install of XP (default settings all the way with the exception of the time I had to pop in a driver CD) got everything up and running in no time... well... 45 minutes.
For you Darwin haters: that godless organization known as PBS has a list of about 100 links that provide evidence of evolution. All of these are supposed to be created by scientists (but don't come crawling back complaining if you find out that one of them wasn't - it doesn't invalidate the evidence, it invalidates my statement that they are scientists).
I promise I'm not the farker who submitted this.
My bad, I didn't notice the zooming. This just became SWEET. A real improvement over existing finance charts.

I did say "should", didn't I? Man I love getting modded into oblivion.

My first thought upon reading the summary was "English, motherfucker! Do you speak it?"
virus is a self-replicating program that spreads by inserting copies of itself into other executable code
From the linked pdf: To prove our point, this paper will present the first self-replicating RFID virus.
So, um, yeah. Maybe, just maybe, you should RTFA. I know, I know. Pipedream.
Check out http://slax.linux-live.org/, it's a 185 MB distro. Or you can roll your own.
According to its website, Eurotech's corporate strategy is to "define and penetrate new and emerging markets."
I didn't realize that my neighbor's WEP encrypted access point qualified as an emerging market, but hey.

If you're really worried.

Preferably I wouldn't like to running too much through Wine but it is still an option.
maybe you can load up word via wine and check your grammar.
I started playing World of Warcraft (WoW) at the end of 2005, and it's been a blast so far.
In nearly 200 hours of gameplay, I can count the number of times I've logged off frustrated on one hand.
Quick math: 49 days this year means this guy has played 4ish hours a day.
I'm going to assume you used abel as a tongue in cheek reference to cain and abel, right? RIGHT??

I'll OWN you at single player pong. I can't wait!

Fair enough.

It's a Toshiba laptop, M45, with the atheros chipset on the wireless (obviously).
I'll give Suse a shot when I get home. Maybe you're right.

This is just to raise more FUD in the badguys.
