They won't go bankrupt or cease to exist, they'll start finding more pedantic and trivial traffic infractions to annoy and ticket drivers for and if that effort fails to keep the revenue flowing, then they'll demand and receive more funding.
It's easy to blame the 'tech' for not being 'perfect', but perfection has never been a requirement for nascent technologies to capture imagination and build consumer momentum. It seems that there is a more fundamental mismatch between current VR design and how humans engage with the world (virtual or otherwise).
I disabled all Emergency Alerts on my Pixel XL (Pie) and the test alert did not come through. I left Emergency Alerts activated on my 8+ and got the alert.
If Twitter perma-bans Trump, you know what will happen:-)
Came here to post this sentiment. It doesn't matter how good the hardware is, it is still crippled by the software they install on it. I'm sitting here watching my Win10 machine update*, mouth agape, mind boggled that this is still what Microsoft has on offer. Windows was relegated to my secondary platform 11+ years ago and it is slowly slipping into tertiary territory behind Linux now. Windows is for gaming and that is about it.
* and don't get me wrong, I do appreciate the regular and seemingly timely updates that Windows does get nowadays.
6,386,456 views??? How many of those views were by children? How is Facebook not deemed complicit? How many views would he have gotten on YouTube, Vimeo, etc. before it was taken down?
-33- authors... tells me all I need to know. I watched the Octopus Volcano documentary this morning and I could buy an off-world DNA explanation of these fascinating creatures.
As a pet owner, this is a no-go regardless. It would make more sense if Amazon offered single locker units that could be securely attached outside your house.
I'd say this is an example of the GAFAM logjam trying to stay ahead of the momentum of the masses. However I don't see Snapchat as the existential threat to Facebook's dominance, but in lieu of any better candidates it is a trendy placeholder.
If that is one's idea of a 'sense of control' then wow. Regardless, not worth paying up for a 'premium' maps experience.

Amazon's dash buttons never made any sense to me anyway. Apparently I'm not the only one.
Apple definitely needs a follow-up to the iPhone SE form factor and price range.
Because they have warehouses full of unsold new phones?

Spare us your 'vehicular assault' drama Anonymous Coward and quit loafing along at 10 under in the fast lane.

A return to Paternalism w/ company-owned FEMA trailers! George Pullman would be proud.
Or the probe angers Ra causing him to supernova.
They're just looking for something cheaper than licensing comic book properties.
-Exactly- No harm (other than financial) can come from remaking 2 & 3.

And sometimes it actually works.
Hope springs eternal. Hopefully they can deliver on the timely Android updates.
