  1. If that is one's idea of a 'sense of control' then wow. Regardless, not worth paying up for a 'premium' maps experience.

They won't go bankrupt or cease to exist, they'll start finding more pedantic and trivial traffic infractions to annoy and ticket drivers for and if that effort fails to keep the revenue flowing, then they'll demand and receive more funding.

It's easy to blame the 'tech' for not being 'perfect', but perfection has never been a requirement for nascent technologies to capture imagination and build consumer momentum. It seems that there is a more fundamental mismatch between current VR design and how humans engage with the world (virtual or otherwise).

  7. I disabled all Emergency Alerts on my Pixel XL (Pie) and the test alert did not come through. I left Emergency Alerts activated on my 8+ and got the alert. If Twitter perma-bans Trump, you know what will happen :-)

Came here to post this sentiment. It doesn't matter how good the hardware is, it is still crippled by the software they install on it. I'm sitting here watching my Win10 machine update*, mouth agape, mind boggled that this is still what Microsoft has on offer. Windows was relegated to my secondary platform 11+ years ago and it is slowly slipping into tertiary territory behind Linux now. Windows is for gaming and that is about it. * and don't get me wrong, I do appreciate the regular and seemingly timely updates that Windows does get nowadays.
