why does high rep at low weight ruin your joints? how about the lack of resistance? flinging a 5kg dumbbell about 25 times when you can lift 20kg won't exercise you, it'll just make your joints work harder. RSI will ensue. also what's the point in doing 25 reps of an exercise and get zero benefit if you can do 8 of the same at a much higher weight and get some genuine results?
I apologise for missing the point about situps/pushups. 25 is fine but I do feel that people relying on situps to lose weight are on a hiding to nothing and will get really disillusioned really quickly compared to if they were doing proper a full body workout.
training for boxing isn't the same as competing professionally (i.e. without a headguard).
the actual training for boxing is a superb way to lose weight. Following a boxer's regime without the end result being getting in the ring with someone and you can't lose. It's a mix of: Good diet, running (or "roadwork" as it's termed in the sport for some reason), weights, co-ordination training (skipping), core strength (crunches, pressups, the plank) and bagwork/sparring which will increase your reflexes.
Don't just say no because of what happens at the very highest level - that's like not taking your driving test because of what happened to Ayrton Senna.
doing 25 reps is not the best way to build muscle. it's a great way to get injured though.
In my experience between 8-12 reps is where you need to be. If you're going to "quad" that do 4 sets of it rather than ruin your joints flinging smaller weights about. There is a diet and exercise plan at http://www.neilmct.com/ that helped me. It's a holistic view of diet and lifestyle, though it caters towards the end for bodybuilders it teaches you good sense (and a bit of science). Disclaimer: I don't know the guy, I don't owe him anything. I'm not advertising it for the sake of it, it really helped me.
Circuit training for boxing is great. If you go to a good gym/take the right classes you will mix running, weights, press ups, skipping and bag work to work out the frustrations.
You can also utilise what others said about martial arts - if you're off somewhere with a pair of boxing gloves it doesn't matter how bad you are, you look better:-). If you ever wanted to compete in "white collar boxing" as it is termed then whatever weight you end up at shouldn't matter too much as the tiering is obviously there to make a fairer fight.
Perhaps it's because Civilization Revolutions is specifically tailored to the console market, if you were playing it on a PC you'd probably feel a bit short-changed.
you need "specialist" sales as much as you need specialist engineers and devs. It's a common attitude to berate sales guys for not knowing absolutely everything you do but when did the people who slate them last go and stand in front of a CEO and make a sales pitch (and win)? Sales is a skill, just because it's not as tangible as coding it doesn't mean it's not hard.

I don't think comparing the psychological burden and internal debates that go on after an abortion really compare to coding embedded systems, somehow. You're taking a decision which was prevented an actual life being born and trying to match it to technology. Whilst sitting in your moms basement playing WoW also prohibits procreation, it's just not the same and actually a pretty tasteless remark.
seriously though, as a UK resident, the current climate of kids thinking they're above the law is disgusting. they can hit you and it's fine, you hit back and you're done for assault and your life will thereon in be a misery. Many are talking about bringing back National Service to teach some discipline and self respect. How can you respect anyone else if you don't respect yourselves enough not to be a complete nuisance?
Having driven through the village yesterday I can say it's barely safe for cars let alone lorries - I don't think GPS removal will sort it though as lorry drivers know the roads really well anyway (they sort of have to).
I hope they start giving away black stickers to put over Barrow Gurney on road maps too - just because they can manipulate new technology doesn't mean the problem will go away overnight. Better signage would sort this - there are two busy roads either side of the place that are well linked but poorly signed.
for an artist that was giving away his last album for free with the sunday papers not so long ago. One the one hand he wants his music spread for all but damned if you want to exercise fair use.
I do see a private dentist if I can't get NHS treatment. Thing is you pay 22%-40% of your income in taxes to pay for NHS treatment but you can seldom get it. I think this is the reasoning behind the stampede for registration at NHS clinics. I also think the whole "British Teeth" thing is a bit overplayed these days. We're not *that* bad:-)
Given the state of our NHS and the mythical availability of dental treatment, I wouldn't put the blame for any feeling of loose teeth down to poison alone...
I think they key is to work for an organisation that sells solutions, not commodities.
Like you I couldn't sell something that wouldn't do the job. Unless you plan to change your company name every time you sell something you just can't get away with selling things that aren't fit for purpose.
Treat it like a coding problem. You've got a set of criteria and you need to provide the building blocks to get around their problem (be it cost, process engineering or whatever).
But again, you need to pick who it is you sell for. I know most companies here (UK) are pitching the "convergence" side of things, which is about rationalising cost and helping the customer profit from technology. Very few IT Directors are like traditional geeks - i.e. no-one simply MUST have the best MPLS connection or the most modern telephone switch (note this may not apply to firewalls).

What if the media found a /. user having a wild party?
There, fixed that for you.

This is slashdot, you're not fooling anyone with this girlfriend stuff ;-)

Seems to me fanboys are bang outta luck. The fanGIRLS though....
I think you are getting confused between "priceless" and "worthless".
yes it is more than a game. I quit cold turkey in March and I'm STILL getting massive urges to play even though my life is richer for not bothering.
