-Think about Intel GMA950 as something like GeForce 3, maybe GF4, but with worse compatibility. Some Windows Games won't run (Psychonauts come to my mind as I tried to run it on my friend's notebook with GMA900) but for example Half Life 2 runs reasonably. You can check compatibility list on Intel's site. Keep in mind that Intel integrated graphics just own everything in terms of power consumption, putting in a real mobile chipset would decrease battery life a lot, not to mention increasing the cost.
-If you're asking if GMA950 is enough to run Vista eye-candy then yes, no problems, Vista's requirements are way too overhyped as is suckiness of Intel graphics;)
The cheapest MacBook doesn't have a DVD burner and you can't even upgrade it. So the upgrading starts at 1250$. With 1Gb of RAM it becomes 1350, include 80gb HDD, better graphics and "Europe premium" and it stops to be really sexy - still pretty nice tough:p
Except for the times you have to use a notebook in real life, outdoors or in sunlight. Glossy LCDs are worse than old CRTs when it comes to reflecting light. Their colours are great but only in good conditions, colours on the classic matte displays may be more bland but at least I can see something when I go out on a sunny day. I understand that some people use notebooks just as a stationary computers but 13" MacBook seemed to be a mainly a portable system.
It's more like: apt-get install xorg-driver-fglrx// you will find it if you search apt by desciption
apt-get install linux-restricted-modules-$(uname -r)// most likely installed already
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg// I don't think that's needed anymore but I use Nvidia cards
and can be done in Synaptic where you can click your way through
Back in circa 1995 they were pretty impressive, some games supported S3 cards special features and looked quite nice, filtered textures were something back then:) Then Voodoo came and the whole market got upside down. I stayed with S3 for a bit longer, I had S3 Savage 4 card and it was comparable with Riva TNT2, not to mention superb textures in Unreal Tournament thanks to S3TC. Then everything went downhill...
It is a continuation of the main RTS line of C&C (Tiberian Wars). Red Alert was a prequel (Kane moves back in time, teams up with Stalin) and Renegade was FPS. As for Generals / Zero Hour I have no idea how do they relate to original C&C.
How anybody can in all their seriousness (or not) play this game with a guitar controller that was clearly designed for 10 year kids? I mean, look at this guy. Go get a real guitar. I just started learning a guitar but it's fantastic compared to all rhythm and action games I played
I am respecting all the hacking he's done though:)
Well, from what I remember the old DOS apps wouldn't run on Windows Me but it was just some stuff disabled and not really removed, some patches and tweaking could reenable them. Then again, it was quite some time ago so my memory could be playing tricks on me and I've read about it in a computer magazine. I've never actually used Windows Me, probably better for me:P
What pain in the ass are you talking about? There's no excuse for nv driver not working, it's enough to get X up and running. Nobody expects proprietary driver to work out of the box but the "reviewer" stated that Fedora just f---ed things up.
Six weeks is 1/4 of time between Gnome releases, a bit too much if you consider that Ubuntu was always one of the first distros to have newest Gnome included. I don't mind this delay as I've been using pre-release for over a month but there are some people who do not like downloading 200mb of patches in few days and prefer something really stable.

Terminal Velocity and Actua Soccer 2, possibly many more, these ones just came with the card.

BSD is dead
Atheism is not a religion. The fact that I don't believe that there is no spoon orbiting Mars doesn't exactly mean that it's a religion.
Torsmo is dead and has been for some time.
Did Netcraft confirm this?
Paper HAS IMs and games, you skipped school or something? :P

"legacy 16 bit crap" was still there, just hidden from users
