Why can't we do something to return the planet to it's natural state - before it was violated and exploited by these cosmic phenomena? Whose children did they destroy and what of their future?
Old movies and TV shows are the most suitable material for the relatively poor quality of streamed video - unless of course you are watching it on a small screen (or a big one from far away) or pulling it in through a very big pipe.
Global population and resource figures aren't that meaningful, in that they don't take into account the uneven distribution. As any particular locality becomes unsustainable relative to some other one within practical reach, people will migrate. This will eventually extend beyond our planet. The numbers and environmental "morals" are very arbitrary in all but the most narrow perspectives.
Do those Netflix HD streams still look good when the picture is moving...or when your kid gets on YouTube in the other room? I'll believe it when I see comparable picture quality over an average (non-South Korean) connection. The whole thing is just a damned waste of bandwidth too, even if they are caching at the ISP.
Actually, I agree with the both of you. I would pick the 360 for gaming, but the guy didn't seem to be asking about gaming so I didn't cover it from that angle. I would also pick the 360 for streaming, but it obviously does not have a blu-ray drive so it's not good for big screens - the focus of my comment.
HTPC/Media centers are a pain in the a$$ and streaming video is for kids with 22" screens and huge pipes. Get a PS3, it's not perfect but it's an excellent blu-ray player, will stream stuff, and you won't have to spend an hour fiddling with it every other time you use it. Use it with TVersity or the like for more flexibility on streaming. Or if you do have just a small screen, keep the 360 and stream all you want.
I can't believe I got modded Troll for this AFTER I made reasonable, clarifying responses to others' comments. I'm sorry if I threatened some teenager's idealism, but I put forth a sincere opinion in this discussion, and apparently because I was too vague in my reference to guns, I get burned for it. In the future, please read a poster's responses before modding.
In order to not be taken advantage of, one has a choice: Either delegate protection to the government and accept the compromises of bureaucracy, or bear the costs of protecting yourself (hence the guns).
"Decreeing" might be the word or spelling you were looking for.

No intelligent robots.
No flying cars.
No ray guns.
*YAWN*
NEXT please.
That might explain the reference to "Florida's massive grapefruit".
I hope the PS3 gets the high quality stuff then (I signed up for my disc). We'll see how well my 3Mb DSL can deliver 10+Mb quality video...

Yeah, maybe if they were working on it 2-5 years ago at the exact moment the Google Earth shot was taken.
Actually, I agreed with your post. You might have missed the use of "only" in mine.
Did you ever notice that Vista is a lot like Linux in that respect? It's a fine system only for those who can manage to configure and use it properly.
Do you miss driving the white van?

Right on. Give 'em hell Phil!
If those kids had flying cars, they wouldn't be able to leave tracks on our lawns!
Love it! "I will make house on Mars." should be the new meme, replacing "Get your ass to Mars".
Yes.
Thank you sir or madam. Your link is priceless.
With my draft ANSI K&R in hand, I don't need any other books, period.
He put the 6502 in upside down. FAIL, uninstall.
Thanks to the Hamachi-loving jerks who spoil it for families like mine which use LAN disc-sharing legitimately.
Considering that most sex is fake, it would follow.
