Completely agree, its why I don't get too exiteed about new Google products as they have no loyalty to their own products. I loved Google Pages (hated its replacement) and Buzz
I was amazed once to see win3.1 installed on my local ATM. Since been upgraded to XP. I noticed that Tesco's self service pos are all XP too, another opportunity for Linux to step in.
I'm shocked. Oracle has always seemed like one the more reputable companies, willing to compete fairly, not obsessed with gouging its customers, and nary an evil bone in their corporate body. I can't imagine them hiring or promoting people that would act like this.
you wouldnt be saying that if you ever used their software,
This is a great program for the not-so-smart phones like my "Sony Ericsson W610i". It gives easy access to Twitter as well as many other sites. I hope Facebook will still allow us to access Twitter.
Its not just Americans. I'm Irish (not Irish-American, born, raised and still living in Ireland) and I'm interested. In some ways the USA is luckier as being a country of immigrants they have had to keep good records whereas many of the records in Ireland have been destroyed delibertly by the govt. or in war by anti-govt or just never created. It was a great way to reconnect with lost family members and to learn more about the family history.
1). GRAMPS is the only real OpenSource genealogy software, everything else is out-of-date and crap. If you used any other software like FamilyTreeMaker before it takes a little getting used to but great software.
2). TribalPages.com is a good site that for $20 will create reports/family tress that you can download as a *.pdf.
All the work on Ancestry should not be in vain. Export your family tree as a *.GEDCOM file and can be imported into GRAMPS or other sites. Bit of advice stay away from GENI.com as once someone connects their tree to yours you NO LONGER CONTROL THE DATA and cannot delete the tree.
I don't understand why they are shutting it down, why not try to sell it? How many members does Delicious have, must be a HUGE database of saved, tagged and crosslinked websites.
Pity there is no wiki- bookmarking site that we could all import our bookmarks into. Nothing out there really grabs me at the mo:(

I agree. I'm stuck using IE6 at work until the eejits in IT decide to upgrade. I don't think any browser should be blocked. If I wanted I should be able to VIOLA or MOSAIC from wayback when.
Solid have set it up to require a password for all transactions. Or does Apple allow that? That's what I do on Android
I only use Outlook because I have to... at work.
great to see jobs being created in Ãire :)
I for one, liked Voyager and DS9 but wasn't a big fan of NG. Looking forward to the reboot in 2017
looks like KDE to me and that thing is a hog. I'll stick with Gnome.
Every phone is made in China, including the iPhone. Anyway If anyone is going to be bugging calls etc it will be the USA & the NSA.
When I was in school we used to joke that America only started a war to find out where a country was :)
before entering the country, create dummy profile or carry a not-so-smart device.

Oh man that's hilarious lol
A picture is worth a thousand words, that way I don't have to read a thousand words lol
I work on a helpdesk and we get customers typing in our url into bing and saying I can't find the site it keeps bringing up such and such... lol

Can we do it again on the 22 July... 22/7 :)
anyone? I don't see it.
This explains all the buffering I've been experiencing with Netflix on UPC here in Ireland
the problem with Irish politicians is they're all ignorant luddites. doesn't matter who you vote for you are screwed either way.
