I remember this movie vividly as it's my single most biggest disappointing movie, EVER!

Seeing the previews I just KNEW it would be a fantastic show and on the same level as The Matrix. Boy was I ever wrong. My friends still to this day rub it in my face that I saw it at the theaters.

I was so let down, it's not even funny. I think what really clenched it was when the cavemen taught themselves how to "break in" a harrier jet the same way they would break in broncos.

However, the good side of it is I'll never forget this lesson, and IMDB is my friend when questioning whether I'm about to see another Battlefield Earth.

This infomercial really lessens any legitimacy of Windows 7. Without seeing it, I already think it's something not worth checking out merely because of this one video. In time Microsoft will come to learn that this sort of publicity is going to turn out really negative for them.

    Thanks for bursting my bubble!

  13. I actually read it. on Anti-Evolution "Academic Freedom" Bill Passed In Louisiana · · Score: 2, Interesting

I just read the Act word-for-word and to me it's very vague. It's not clear to me that the intention is to knock down global warming, evolution, and cloning. Of course, given the vagueness of the article it is a possibility.

The key words used are "critique" and "critical thinking". So it depends on which definition you use for these words.

Critique could mean anything from "evaluate something critically" or simply to "evaluate and review".

I understand the knee-jerk reaction to immediately be on the defensive and bash the Act, but it could be a stepping stone to officially include the discussion and topic of global warming, cloning, and evolution into the classroom. Then, once introduced the kids will be exposed to the subjects and be able make their own decisions.

Yes, at the worst the subjects will be painted in the worse possible light, but kids aren't idiots and they will discuss the topics amongst themselves and hopefully will be aware that there are two sides to the topics.

We've all been through public schools and I'd like to think that the entire community (including us /.ers) are not brainwashed monkeys believing whatever we read just because it's in print.

I had a chance to buy one of the BBS' I would play on and I tried to get some old friends to get back with me so we could relish in the glory days. It was awkward, not that much fun, and really ruined my memories of the fun I'd had. Just enjoy your fond memories and don't try to recreate the situation/atmosphere/fun you had as a younger person. I have already though about what you said, that's why I qualified the response with "practical management". It just isn't realistic to do all that preparation and maintenance for such little gain. It'll increase management infinitely, that's why SAN's are so popular for centralized management. It would be best to get a NAS box and throw it on the network somewhere. But then again, if he's bored implementing this would give him plenty to do.
