I disagree. There are strict standards and many levels of testing in the Healthcare IT field (I do work in a health care company), and we're really tight following those procedures. One false step from any department and the entire company's shut down for intense FDA Audits. What worries me, though, is so many health care grad students are cheating. At least with comp sci, I have a testbed and a compiler to help me catch my errors. In the medical field, their testbed is my hospital bed!!!

Clearly you've never had a tech job doing coding, and likely you never will. Do the engineers a favor and don't be a manager or a spec writer. Nothing infuriates software engineers more than some half-wit who goes around telling engineers to write some ungodly project in two weeks just because they think it's easy to implement.

If it really was that easy, do you think Blizzard would NOT do it? They don't have anything to gain by having users pissed. Hell, I cancelled my WoW account because of the lag.

If Blizzard was to re-write the entire code, the release would be called World of Warcraft 2. Or possibly this is what is in store for the Burning Crusade expansion (not likely).

After all, the deterioration of the environment doesn't help us at all, and if we can do our part and even help a little bit with the environment by polluting less, then in the end this is worth it. Free Market? There's still a free market. You can buy other models of hybrid or hybrid-incorporated cars (Camry-Hybrid, Highlander-Hybrid). The market still exists. I'm curious to see the direction of this conversation when gas is in short commodity.
