In the same way, if the penny goes, we might as well rid ourselves of the nickel as well and just price round to a tenth of a dollar. A Nickel is worth $0.07185 as of yesterday.
This seems inevitable anyways unless you get the fed to shut off the printing press.
I have put more than 5400 miles on my Suzuki Bandit 600 and have averaged 44 MPG thus far. That doubles what my car gets on average and was one of my "rationalizations" for getting a motorcycle. But really it was for more than that; it is just so much fun to ride.:)
This was a short CNN news blurb on the tube this morning. What I found interesting was that they did not even mention Dean Kamen or Deka Research, nor did they even say "from the creator of the Segway".
The most recent commentary that I watched and found to be very interesting was for the movie "The Four Feathers". I felt that the director, Shekhar Kapur, did a great job of telling the history from which he pulled his matrial, explaining the differing philosophies of the cultures involved and disecting the characters' emotions.
So, yes, like all things there are the dull, uninteresting, poorly thought out commentaries (which probably accompany the dull, uninteresting, poorly thought out movies). But do not dispair, the are good ones out there.
I have to wonder how many of those who directly gave their password actually gave a bogus password for the fun of it. I know I probably would have said "one.. two.. three.. four.. five".
As far as 17" screens go, I am going to guess that virtual displays will eventually be accepted by the general consumer base.
As for embedded market not spanning to the Kazaa market? I think it is an obvious direction. What teenager wouldn't love to have their portable mp3 player be constantly connected to Kazaa to always have the latest tunes available?
I find it interesting that the "Windows" topic has finally been used. This is the first time I can remember seeing it, and when I do a search, this article is the only one that comes up.
At first I thought they had changed the "Microsoft", but I am glad that is not the case, the borg icon is still pretty cool after all these years.
Well, the Treo seems to be around $200 now, according to pricewatch. My roommate got one of these less than a year ago, and he really likes it. It is his first PDA of any sort. I still think its a pretty slick design. As for my self, I am going to stick with the two devices I have (PalmPilot Professional and Nokia 8000-something).
Hey, don't knock the original. I still use my PalmPilot Professional on a daily basis. Runs great, does what I need it to... a great investment overall. Although it would be nice to upgrade to all those new whiz-bang functions.
Now, maybe this has already been discussed elsewheres, but I just had a thought on how to make the game interesting without everyone choosing the Jedi profession outright.
A) Jedi would not be a selectable profession
B) Every character might have the potential to become a Jedi, but you don't know if you have it or don't.
C) The fun and challage would be some kind of high and low search to discover if you can be a Jedi.
D) Go into Jedi training.
E) The bartender can force choke those who don't pay their tab.
I am a Star Wars fan, but wasn't following the development of this games, so you can just ignore me. I also really couldn't get into EverQuest; never really got into RPGs.
Meanwhile, at the conclution of the 34th International Orienteering Competition, no winner could be determined and 5 teams are unaccounted for. Feared dead. Film at 11.
Indeed it does look like the iPod wheel. I thought it would be interesting if the disk had a dual feature. In one mode the ring would act like the iPod (rotating) and in the second mode it would act like a directional pad (ala console controller).
Don't fall for this. It's just a ploy to get us to buy more CD-RWs to feed our artistic habits.:)
Now that I think of it, an intesting art display might be a wall full of these making up a complete picture. Might have to find a bunch of those ractangle CD-RWs tho. Are those even produced? Ah, nevermind.
"random words or characters may be displayed" "the speech recognition tool is 'listening' to your voice through you computer's microphone and is attempting to recognize what you are saying."
I am curious how random the output is. The mic is on, attempting to recognize words, and it comes up with something random, ie nothing close to what has actually been said. Doesn't sound like such great voice recognition software to me.
I wonder what words the software comes up with as these users bang their heads on the keyboard?
Yes, do so (shame on me for not doing so). But I would think it would be a good idea to specifically mention which side of the fence you sit. Are you against the deal because it is too strict? or does it not go far enough?
I probably know what most/.ers would answer, but that does not mean that they do.

I was wondering if you could expand on what was tedious about OSX and how those situations compare to Windows (and Linux if you like).
Are you kidding? We can't get my Mom to even sit in front of a computer let alone use it. She is perfectly happy with her typerwritter and pen&paper.
I suspect eduction of your average geocacher would be much more useful.
I agree that education is the best way to go, but I suppose "Take only pictures, Leave only footprints" won't work in this case.

Also, think of how many eyeballs will taking in the glory of their WM9 logo. Think THX.

WPI's is slightly different:
e to the x, dy/dx
e to the x, dy
cosine, secant, tanget sine
three point one four one five nine
e, i, radical pi
fight'em, fight'em, WPI!
Heh, now we can finally be John Malkavich.

Read it? I didn't even know it existed. Was it there when I started reading Slashdot back in '97 or '98?
Meanwhile, at the conclution of the 34th International Orienteering Competition, no winner could be determined and 5 teams are unaccounted for. Feared dead. Film at 11.
30 seconds of pre-quake hysteria
I do believe it more closely resembles the MT-AT Transport (expanded universe).
