Worker productivity has increased over the past 30 years, while worker income has remained flat. We're not asking for handouts, we're asking to get paid what we're worth.
That's complete BS. Worker income(for the middle 60%) has increased 40% in the last 30 years. It may not come close to the level of the 1%ers, but then the old adage you have to spend money to make money seems to be proven true every generation.

I don't produce the wealth in the company I work for simply because I don't bring in the clients nor directly work for them, but thanks for that lesson in marxism. I will put away my copy of the communist manifesto now.

They actually seem to be protesting more vociferously against the corporate influence over Washington, D.C. I, for one, am much more worried about the separation of wall street and state than church and state.
Actually, we are not there. Anyone who knows anything about the power structure in this country would know it is the corporations that have more power than the federal government in many key areas. That is not fascist.
If that were true, then the health care bill wouldn't have passed. Obama couldn't get all what he wanted done when he owned both houses so why does he think we are stupid enough to believe he could get anything done now? Unless he really believes the 99% are too stupid to realize he's just blowing smoke up all our butts.
is that not only doesn't the urban heat island effect not exaggerate warming trends
You do realize that this is a double negative, thereby making the assertion that urban heat island effect does exaggerate warming trends. Which we knew all along.;)
I think there has been a greater percentage of post-apocalyptic stories in the last 10-15 years(The Road, City of Ember, Blindness, World War Z, Dies the Fire, The Passage, Hunger Games, Oryx & Crake) , or maybe I am just noticing them more because my tastes in SF have changed.
No, malaria is the issue. Most people with malaria do not die and they cause a drain on the resources- both in needing help and in not being able to work to help their families and communities. Once you knock malaria down to something much smaller and more manageable the people and the communities can be in a better position to accept economic help to build their communities up and knock poverty down to something manageable.
Apparently, you didn't bother to read that Holocene optimum link since it says right near the top... "This warm period was followed by a gradual decline until about two millennia ago."

Oh, this should really make your day. lol. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oligarchy#Corporate_Oligarchy_.28Corporatocracy.29
After reading your whinging, I am hoping that corporatocracy sticks and gets used around here all the time.
Good lord, you are one dumb SOB. I am glad you do not represent the majority of /.ers.
There is more than one source for this information. That aside, if you don't care for a source, it doesn't make the message any less true.
I had a cassette tape drive for some time before I got the disk drive for the C64.
Except they are claiming that in 5 years climate change will be irreversible. That's not a long term trend. That's down to the year!

They all pretty much hit the mark where Jobs and Apple is concerned, imo. Anyone who thinks otherwise smacks of being an apologist.
Steve Jobs said jailbreaking the iPhone was immoral and yet he was perfectly fine with parking in handicap spots. The guy was a hypocrite and a d-bag.
Learn to read. That is not the same poster, genius.
And you're talking about games from over 15 years ago, 2 console generations removed. Not sure what point you are trying to make.
It wasn't deregulation, it was being forced by government to give loans to people who had no business taking loans.
And take credit for it after the fact.
People keep saying this, but they don't say how they have been accounting for it. And that is significant.
The burden of proof is on the AGW theorists. They are the ones making the claims.

Except in areas where it's the opposite and there's only drought.
