Does anyone know what guilds are mentioned? I was in a guild called the fuckheads, I remember these guys in UO. It would be interesting to see how factual this "book" is. It sounds about right for this guy to be writing a book about himself.
This is the reason we (the US) are going/are being murdered by China. We are not better than them, and the advantages we had are shrinking to nothing. Manifest Destiny is a myth.
Did the interview come off extremly steril? Wal-Mart has the best supply chain in the business, and they are obviously taking that route with their game devision. I just have a feeling that this putting into focus everything that is going wrong with the gaming industry. Less focus on passion, more on lean manufacturing.
What are your thoughts on the MMOG market? Do you agree with Brian Farrell's recent assertion that there's only room for one big MMOG at any given time? (I.e. World of Warcraft as of now.) **Note to reader: interview took place prior to the announcement of the Mythic acquisition.
Nope. I think that "virtual worlding" will soon be a rite of passage for all teenagers with access to the internet.
Does this mean that Warhammer Online will not be canceled?
While I do see that your references are quite valid, I would like to think that blind cynasism is not the answer. Call me an idealist, but I honestly feel that a free, liberal society and corporate American can find a common ground. It's my hope that Google is that common ground. And perhaps a model for corporations that you can still make gobs of cash while not screwing over a ton of people.
NPD results are still days away from being released, how can you say anything about the PS3's sales for the month of October?
I was Hypoluxa. UO was a ton of fun. I don't play many games anymore, but I have yet to find an experience such as Beta/Early Release of UO. Oh well.

I would kill for a set of those.
Win what?

I think there are a few countries that may disagree with this assessment.
Jet Contrails act as a dimmer. I read about this in the book "The Weather Makers", it is both interesting and informative.
Power wise it is much better than a PS2. However, you will not notice this fact going off the PS2 ports Ubisoft is shoveling onto the Wii.
Because the DS has taken over Japan (the Wii is doing extremely well, but the DS is just dominating everything).
They really have to compete with the PS3, because we all know how well it is doing right now... Right.
NYT is primarly print, while blogs are strictly web based. Sort of comparing apples to oranges (I get my news from blogs and print).
Looking Scarry? It's a freaking pumkin, what do you expect?
Don't forget the price for the different controllers that are packaged in. Oh, and a game.
This sounds odd to me, do you have any references to back up your claim? Thanks.
Generally speaking, happier employees are more productive employees.
Also, I did not see Might and Magic.

Let me introduce you to a friend of mine, his name is Windows ME
But to whom?

That negates the logic found in your post.
How objective is this study? Isn't this reminiscent of Microsoft backed studies claiming that Windows is the best solution? Food for thought.
Millions? Try Billions.
