Despite being one of those socialist liberals that inhabit much of Europe. I am going with Apple on this one. I think given their current way of doing things, they would love to have one big iTunes for Europe, with one price in Euros, converted to the local currency in those bits of Europe that choose not to partake, but in this case I suspect if they didn't atleast try to prevent out of region sales the labels and distributors would come down hard.
Heres also hoping that all the iTunes stores get the non DRM stuff, not just the USA one for the first x months/years.
I am 99% sure that when using a visa card (or any other bank card) the conversion is transparent to the merchant. Payments in $ appear on my bank statement as "payment to xxx 19.99 USD..... £10.45" so I doubt the merchant gets charged any extra. (On that date the exchange rate made $19.99 = £10.19, so I suspect my bank is charging for the conversion). There may however be tax issues.
Get with the times dude, command line help is sooo 30 years ago. Just press F1 for help on whatever application you are using, or on the desktop for windows help....
Thats the whole point, dont try to use anything DRMed and there is no DRM. Nobody is forcing you to use DMRed media, and regular files will play whatever the resolution. The real loss is the increased cost of 'robust' hardware.
a) Does not work indoors, and there are very few times I would consider using a laptop outside in this climate.
b)Eats battery like nothing else, this might be good for the odd fix now and again when you boot up, but running continously would probably put a bit of a crimp on your battery.
Ah yes, my uni has the whole XP/Office/Exchange thing going on. Except for departments that involve computers (computing, modelling, etc), they use linux. Atleast they had I.E 7 rolled out within a fortnight of it hitting windows update.

Yes, quite right. There is CSS to emulate table layouts, but until I.E supports it tables are simpler, easier and dont require loads of hacks for each browser. Its what happens when you try and use a language designed to describe STYLE for LAYOUT. CSS is great in the cathedral of web standards for styling documents sent over HTTP, however its a little lacking for websites.
The M4 is 70 mph for most of the length out to reading, but traffic never gets that fast. Ever. Living in Ealing (a real suburb of London) we consider reading a sperate entity entirly, as is anywhere else outside the M25. (It is however the only place outside London you can buy tube tickets.)
But your bathing suit did not come with anything that could offend, however inaccessible. This game did. Your explanation requires the application of 3rd party content (your crotch) before any offence is had, a bathing suit with a hole in it does not in itself offend, only when it is worn.
This leads to an interesting dilemma of how much 3rd party content is required for it to be a 'mod' ? Oblivion hackers applied a male skin to a female mesh to create boobies, does this count?
Assuming he means a one time download of a regular MP3, I set up a system very like this for a band I know (The Big Hand) the system to take paypal payments and then dish out download links is only a couple of hundred lines of PHP.
I used phpBB for a user auth system, and at the moment allow unlimited downloading (though I monitor it and may change to a more restrictive system if I spot people sharing accounts, but that would be a trivial change). It uses paypal's instant payment notification that posts back details of every transaction to the server, that then checks all the details and allows the download.
So far its working quite well, and the only downside is the large cut paypay take for small transactions.
My BT London DSL is connected at 8Mbps, and I have seen a good 6 of them downloading once or twice. True the exchange is 200m up the road, so if they can jam 100Mbps down copper I want it now!
I stopped noticing googles beta tags a few years back, as most of their betas seem to work pretty well. However if its not google then I am a little more selective about my web 2.0/technology mumbo jumbo
Oh and, In Soviet Russia, technology mistrusts you, or something like that.
DSL in the UK is alot better than it used to be, we got bumped up to 8Mb/512kb a couple of months back, and with a decent server I can usually get a sustained rate of over half that. Plus, if there are any bandwidth limits I have not managed to hit them (being trying my best with BT. The only time they contacted us about our connection was when someone (no names) got owned and started spewing out emails.
Then again given we are 200 yards from the telephone exchange in a rich London suburb, bring on the 24Mb 8-).

I once debugged a I.E for Mac display bug over the phone, you know, change code, upload, ask guy over the phone to look at it on his crappy old mac, repeat for 1 hour. The end result was telling him to accelerate said mac out of a window, but it worked.
Getting computers to appear on a windows network, now that was pure voodoo in the 95/98 era.
Ok, but if I cant download the workstation one free thats no good 8-p.
So its installed, and activating the install VMTools menu option has only made a virtual DVD appear. But look on the bight side, the internets work, which is more than can be said for native duel-booted ubuntu (usb wireless with WPA). Time to figure out how these non one click install processes work.
