Yeah, and affects broad spectrum from Windows to Mac.... That's give those Mac Users something to worry about. As the Mac user base grows you will tend to see more and more exploits that affect OS X and will be targeted more. Same goes for *nix. So basically, if it can be hacked, it will, and if there is an exploit, statistically when the more users using a particular OS, chances of your exploit affecting more people goes much higher, thus making the exploit more effective. We must note that there is no OS that cannot be compromised unless thoroughly hardened and no programs that contain exploits running on it. There are constantly upcoming exploits to which were not previously known. Basically securing your system is sometimes a full time job.

That sounds like they mean username and password, but I think they just mean username, since the article states that the URL becose different when it looks like you forgot your password. I think that once you enter in a bad password, some kind of session vars are revealed in which then the exploit can be done. Note they are using 2 browsers as well for 2 seperate sessions to accomplish this.

As far as nukes, single manned JIHADISTS in jets with nukes attached should be a good solution as well, but might not be proven effective. All we need to do is convince the terrorists that the crusaders are invading Earth in asteriods.

I have tried slackware as a Desktop OS before. It's not bad if you don't mind compiling alot of stuff by hand. Although there are some tools that have many of the precompiled stuff and get them installed for you (e.g. slackpkg {Console} or gslapt-get {GUI}) So as far as servers go, I stick to the saying "Once you go Slack, you never go back", but if you are using Linux as a desktop OS, you may want to consider one of the other distros, unless you want to really play around with Linux and get a feel of how Slackware works. I have recently been using Ubuntu for my Desktop and Laptop which I find rather appealing and easy to use.

Agreed 100%. I am first hand at this as come May, I will have my BS in CS, with an emphasis in Information Systems from Cal State Fullerton. It's no Berkley, but I believe it is a quite good school. Anyhow, in all my classes taken even though most of our assignments there were small programs or algorithms we had to devise. There wasn't much programming taught once you got out of the first few classes in the first year or so. After that, much of the programming practices I had to pick up from a book or online.

It was the assembly and arctitecture classes that really brought us down to the low level. Not to mention the 2 algorithm classes that showed the big O and big Omega sides of things so like jawtheshark states you aren't scratching you head pondering why your algorithm takes 3 days to do a merge sort on some files. All in all once May comes, I will be lacking something as far as something taught with my degree. We never directly used, with our main language of choice at Fullerton (C++), user interfaces, instead the media class we took made us use a program called "Revolution" which in my opinion is crap. But I suppose once you got the fundamentals down, a book or internet can get you up to par on that.
