You can output HD over analog. Many of the "upconversion" DVD players, such as the Samsung HD-series, have a hack that allows you to output 720p, 768p, and 1080i over component video cables.

It's actually a software hack...just a few button presses and it says HDCP DISABLED. Judging by the current market for XBOX mod chips and hacks, someone will figure out a way around it.

Our POS terminals ran on DOS. Yep, good old DOS 6.22. It was ultra-stable, had low hardware requirements, and was pretty fast. The eye candy wasn't quite as nice, but as a cashier I just needed information shown to me. Eye candy would've been a distraction.

I'd personally like to see studies on uptime of various POS terminals so we can actually quantify reliability of one OS over another.

What screwed the movie industry over this year? One word: REMAKES. There have been far too many remakes of older films that were fine the first time around! Every movie HAS to be redone with a new cast that completely scars the original's image. Bewitched isn't a remake per say, but rather, a transformation of a TV show into a movie.....many years after it went off the air. Nobody cares. Let's not forget prequels and sequels. Star Wars Episode 3 is acceptable, but we're getting too many _____ 2 type movies. We need more original ideas! This is why The 40 Year Old Virgin did so well...it was a new idea. People don't want to see the same garbage over and over. That's why Stealth sucked. It was a predictable movie using a formula that had already been exhausted. Again, new ideas, Hollywood.

I could see this being used more for small businesses right now, not consumers. A small engineering firm with say, 20 employees, could get a lot of use from this moving big CAD files to and from customers. Even branch offices of larger companies could use it for some wicked-fast VPN connections to a corporate server.

Another thing to try is actually an automotive scratch remover. It's made by Meguiar's and is called Plastic Polish. It is designed to removing hazing and microscratches from clear plastics like headlamp lenses. It seems to work okay...just okay. And to clean up the metal on the back, try Mother's Mag Aluminum Polish. It's intended for things like polishing engine bay metal, unfinished wheels, exhaust tips, etc. It should smooth out some scratches and leave it nice and shiny.

Halo 2 isn't even a year old folks, and people are complaining about it being delayed a few months? Have some patience for Christ's sake. Good things come to those who wait.
