well you see they have been trying to get rid of that little 1st amendment thing, it's been hampering the real government for far to long.

and all you have to do is upgrade your PC every year or two to keep up with playing those fancy games.

yet on a console that you buy 4-6 years prior will still play those old games (with no need to update), you don't have to worry about compatability (Does my graphics card cut it? Do I have enough ram? Is there enough room on my hard drive? is my processor fast enough?) you can just pop a game in and hit start. Plus as time goes on games only look better on a console since developers don't have to worry about catering to people who bought the latest nVidia/ATI card from 8 months ago (cause by this time the newer one is out), they know what they have to work with and don't have to piss around.

The only truely nice thing about PC gaming over Console gaming is Saving a game, on a console you are forced to find a save point before you can save and quit (and when you are gaming late at night wanting to go to bed this becomes a meaningless chore) where as on the PC you just hit ESC hit save and quit.

How would the other Blu-Ray players react to this? Who would want to buy another Blu-Ray player if the PS3 is the cheapest one and it is also a next-gen console, allegedly the most powerful of all?

How did the industry react when the PS2 was released? they were still selling $500 DVD players that did just about the same amount (just they could play VCD's) as the PS2, the only problem I ever had with the PS2 DVD Player (which was my first) was the audio on the launch models were extremely low, I remember having to turn the volume up to 20 half the time just to hear people talking at a normal volume.

once I got the remote and it updated the firmware though I never had a problem with it after that, But DVD players were $50 at the time so I just got a stand alone one that did 10x as much as the PS2.

What will help with Blu-Ray is since every game on the PS3 will be on a BR Disc the BRDA can say "We have sold 30,000,000 Blu-Ray discs world wide" when in actuality it's more like 10mill for movies with the rest being games world wide, That way it makes BR look better in sales cause they can also count the PS3 as a BR Player so you can chalk up 1mill Blu-Ray players sold in America! when it's more like 750,000 PS3 and 250,000 stand alone BR Players.

I don't really see how the 360 fits into this equation, the 360 doesn't come standard with a HD-DVD player, it doesn't play HD-DVD games, it's just a game console that plays DVD's, sure around the end of the year they will sell an HD-DVD add on but from past experiences, Add-ons don't exactly sell well (atleast not enough for them to consider it a success).

Are they still planning to release yet another level of the 360 with the HD-DVD player pre-installed or did they drop that idea? I tried to look at TFA but apperantly it's been slashdotted as has the CC link.

I honestly wouldn't be suprised if they did it with Halo 3, it's just to perfect, they know it will sell massive ammounts at $60, $70 or even $80 and they can ad it to hell and people will still eat it up just cause it's Halo 3!

I can see it now, "OMG MASTER CHEIF IS DRINKING A PEPSI! I DRINK PEPSI!!!!" next time they play through it "WOW! MASTER CHEIF IS DRINKING DR. PEPPER! I NEED TO START DRINKING DR. PEPPER!" cause they are morons.

After all Microsoft kept the price of Halo at $30 when Halo 2 came out for $20 more, and Halo 2 is still going for $50 even though they made back their money and made a huge mint in profits, There's games that don't sell anywheres near what Halo 1 & 2 did and they drop to $20 within 2 years.

You want a PS3 because you're a fool as well. It's produced by a me-too company whose last iota of unrestrained talent faded ages ago, and whose sad fanboys(not fans, apple, nintendo, and star wars have fans, short for fanatic) roam the wilds of the internet acting juvenile and lowering the common denominator. And it's one saving grace atm is that it'll have sequels to games I like on it, with a slightly shinier coating which has thus far completely failed to impress upon me the desire to spend > $500 for a fucking toy.

so then going by your brilliant logic here, people are fools for wanting an Xbox 360 aswell? It's $400 for a "Fucking toy", Microsoft only got into the Console race because they saw it as a way to get their media center into the home, they realized that was impossable with the Xbox so they released the 360 with some of those features already installed.

Or are you one of those people that go "Fuck sony! they always suck!" and that's just it, you just hate sony because they installed a rootkit on your PC without your knowladge?

The anti-Sony fanboy's are much much MUCH worst then then pro sony fanboy's, atleast they don't go around and just say that Sony sucks and then that's it.

also where is it said that sony will in fact charge $500 for the ps3? Microsoft was the first one to start charging more then $300 for a system, shouldn't the blame of expensive consoles rest on their shoulders since they proved people were willing topay that much?

better yet why aren't you bitching at the people on eBay? You know those nice people (you're probably one of them) who goes out on launch day, buys 3 or 4 systems, comes hom and sets them up for sale on eBay for people to buy at the low low price of $600 starting.

Are you convinently forgeting Gamestop in you "$500 fucking toy" rant? They were charging upto $10,000 for "Package" deals that included all kinds of useless shit, some stores wouldn't even sell people the system UNLESS they had one of these package deals.

Next time you decide to blame a company because they are charging a huge ammount for a "fucking toy" you should remember to look into other factors aswell.

oh and some people might consider that PC you are using a fucking toy that cost you quite a bit (or if you were given it it cost someone else quite a bit).

Once I saw they were doing a remake I couldn't belive it, wasn't the whole point of it about how different people were? Nerds used computers and fantasized about sex non stop, Jocks were all about competition and banging the cheerleader.

Yet how will that go over in todays world? (Remember remakes are always updated to fit in with todays world) Jocks use computers now, so the whole difference between the two worlds is gone...unless we are to belive that computers are still $3,500 at the cheapest and require a lot of work to just get a text document to show up.
