...is already in the hands of a few people. Nukes can wipe out the life on this planet. With capitalism, it always happens that power goes into the hands of few.
What did you expect, something like Blade Runner where even the guy down at the corner in chinatown makes artificial animals?
Doesnt it make more sense to show your content on a search engine? Help people find what they're looking for? And get a view of what's being searched? Or does this apply more to paid publications?
Well, they're really just showing their true flavors. Siding with the ones with money instead of sending a recommendation to the judge that she should pay something like 50-100 bucks.
Does the white house realize that a multibillion-dollar organization just won a $200k victory against a single person? Doesn't this seem straight up unfair at the core?
Isn't this wrong? As in, completely and utterly wrong due to the potential of destroying ourselves if me make screwing with this technology a precedent? That even assumes that we didn't just get it wrong the first time around (this time) and destroy ourselves turning this chromosome into an organism. Didn't nuclear weapons teach us that lesson, or is the world blind?
facebook group "The New Times" or myspace.com/thenewtimes for a longer interpretation of our current situation. This is one of the topics I deal with.
We don't even need to fight. We should be smarter than that by now. Longer version of my opinion at facebook group "The New Times" or myspace.com/thenewtimes
The whole issue is a flagrant abuse of the free market system. Having exclusivity with a carrier is ok; forcing the exclusivity on the customer after they paid for the hardware is wrong. It's my phone, I should be able to use it anywhere after paying hundreds of dollars for it. Locking me into a carrier via hardware is contractually-sanctioned and obligated extortion.
The fact is, Office's DRM should be separated from the DRM in Visio and other products. If they weren't linked, there would be no problem to begin with.
The difference is, we went to the moon, and we still are beating out China. We will continue beating out China if we keep up the research in other areas. Being focused on the moon (a goal accomplished long ago) is taking a step back to the past. We need to move into the future. China doesn't have that in their past, so it's their future. That's why it matters to them.
The fact is, while they use their resources accomplishing something we did ~50 years ago, we can be focused on multitudes of other things like having the best fighter jets. They still can't touch a Raptor (easily), and we've got 3 even newer jets in production that we know about. It's called technological superiority, and we're not wasting resources on getting to the moon when eventually, the fight's gonna be down here.
Have you ever considered that some of the EBGames/Gamestop might not know when they're getting their next shipment? Walmart is guaranteed a shipment on a given date because its coming from their own highly efficient distribution centers.
However, their product is installed on every single computer that is supposed to be running their software. Anyone who installs OSX on a regular PC (if it can be done) are the only people to worry about if you're Apple. But even then, there's only so many who would do that. Apple doesn't need to worry about their operating system solution like MS does when it comes down to sales.
The last time a big company made serious add-ons like a cd player, they left the business. I wouldn't worry about Microsoft pulling off what Sega couldn't.

Is probably one of the best ideas I've heard in a while. It defeats patents, and makes our stuff better. Down with the system!

Does anyone else see personal interest as their only motivating factor now?
IT workers should get a nap break like preschoolers. Duh.

But he has original consoles with original games. Why should he pay for games again?

You're still missing the point that 12.9 Million goes towards environmental charity.
Why haven't we seen this glowing thing on people yet? Does that mean that this thing is more evolved than we are?
Those guys who got the X6800 would be screwed royally.
Isn't this the entire point of The Daily Show?
He said that we're not gonna see it in laptops for a while for a reason, man.
Shouldn't that still be illegal, as it will give Roxio an unfair advantage because of bundling?
Myspace is like slashdot? and Amazon? In terms of social networking?

Does anyone else think it's a bad idea to strap your jetpack onto your back with duct tape??

Couldn't this be used to let you know that there's a cop nearby? Now that's some nifty shit.
