Is it possible that there are enough disgruntled consumers bit by this problem to generate a class-action lawsuit?" I sense B.S. just like everyone else... And who uses an eMachine??
Real-estate speculators, currency traders, domain squatters, ticket scalpers and people who sell PS3s on eBay are just ignorant jerks who are gaming the system to enrich themselves while providing no useful service. Sounds like someone is a little pissed that they weren't smart or savvy enough to 'enrich themselves'. Don't hate the player, hate the game.
An iPhone might be useful for your everyday consumer, but I think I'll continue to pass on Apple's i-Series devices - the tech equivalent of the 'for Dummies' books.
They stayed alive thanks to their iMac and iBook but they've faded and are passe. Then the iPod almost made Apple a household name again. Now the iPhone? Apparently Apple is now a tech gadget company, their computing division will soon be gone. Much like IBM dropping its PC dominance for server and business consulting services.
...insert Rod A into Slot B? Weren't there electrical outlets before joystick ports? We could go back to creation and argue the original patent for inserting Rod A into Slot B could be awarded to God.
While a noble effort by the OLPC, have they really thought this true? Who is going to provide support for 5 million notebooks? Will there be authorized local service centres where kids can take them after they've been dropped? How long are these things supposed to last?
Hence, if I ever make the switch, I will use HD-DVD. I don't like the sounds of Blu-Ray. Sounds like some weapon a super villain would use - in thise case, Sony.
It was alright in the late 90s but I was never personally a big fan, even though I had to support it for a while. Who needs anything more than what Pine has to offer???
That the mouse is now mightier than the pen. Will censorship somehow prevent students from having their bevhaviour glorified? Possibly, but isn't it the behhaviour that should be somehow prevented?
It's ECMA. It even says that in the page you've linked to. And the original article. This Slashdot typo's infectious - it seems to have spread to half the comments posted already... Tomatoe, Tomato, it's all the same...
I didn't take any math courses, binary was taught in Comp Sci 101. Unless you plan to program for a fertilizer company, you don't need calculus. Unless you plan to program for an online casino, you don't need statistics. Heck, you don't even need to know what pie is unless you hope to work in a bakery. Math is for scientists and nerds, not computer geeks! Just say no to math!
If I were the utube.com owner i would:
a) Move the ordering system that customers use to another server; something like orders.utube.com on another physical machine
b) Get some frickin advertising on the home page; 68 million hits in August? Think about the possible revenue!
Welcome to/. utube!
How was this moded Redundant? This was funnier than most of the stuff 'funny' stuff that scored a 5. It's time to make some of the moderators redundant.
Oh well, positive karma was nice while it lasted...
I guess North Koreans don't really know what they're missing but they'd probably be better off if Kim Jong-il accidentally tested one of his nukes in the middle of the country. Why hasn't that guy been assassinated yet?
What if they make it geemail.com? Apparently the Googlites have registersted it. Would that be short enough to appease???
Unfortunate - I'd mod it +5 - for arrogance alone, nothing insightful.
It tastes awful, but it works - most of the time...

I don't know about Walmart, but my local EB Games has 3 units on the shelf.

M$ supports it (and possibly owns shares in x86 technology manufacturers).

Now I definitely have no reason to visit the US. I only went so I could collect change and melt it down at home...
No wonder they lost their hockey team to Dallas...
How long until the Rise of the Machines and Judgement Day??

Our support is currently crap but it doesn't sound like you'd be able to provide anything better.
of Soviet Russia! '... also take note of Windows DRM deciding what you can and can not listen to...'

Maybe Google Checkout isn't doing as well as they had hoped and Ebay said no to an offer on Paypal. Maybe Google really IS evil!?
