    Excepting the ability to make a webpage saying something, and then have another person ('web journalist') quote it, and suddenly your original research, without any proof or review, is now credible fact. Do it a few more times and it's irrefutable and you don't even need words like 'alleged' anymore. A reinforcing circle jerk of obfuscation.

    You're mocking, fine, but you do somewhat have a point: home ec courses, parenting courses etc. Female dominated and the odd male that takes it gets the 'why aren't you taking ____ instead'. At least in HS level. Think cooking and such it event out at the college level.

    Put an end to the malnutrition and suffering of the takeout/ramen-eating uni kids! Male-only home ec courses!

    But it's not Innocent until Proven Guilty anymore. It's not even Guilty until Proven Innocent.

    Current climate is: Guilty until we can no longer libel you as guilty, but 'it probably could have happened anyway'. Just check out the turn-around the media and people did after that fraternity thing.

    Doesn't even need to be blind, a degree of vision loss can suffice for relying on audio cues as assistent.

    It's also extremely helpful for that moment between "I looked left, I looked right, but when I took a step, some guy turned the corner without looking... but the noise made me pause and look left again". The noise also helps detect the idling car versus the parked car... for when they shoot out without bothering to look, you at least had them assessed as a potential threat before time.

    Ditto. You weren't eligible for the bus if you lived within a mile, so you walked. Or biked. School yard had a tonne of bike racks filled, even in winter. Not a bike helmet to be seen (what do you think you're riding, a motorbike?). To think, all this time we were neglected abused children.

    And referring to elected officials as 'head chimp' 'bumbling apes' and for forth is old as well. Just because the current president is black doesn't mean 'oh shit what we've meant for decades is suddenly something else!'.     Except... we do that. The majority of Americans have not bombed a foreign country, wiretapped, whatever. Cue the cries of that though, whenever almost anything regarding the United States comes up. Reverse that with Muslims and bombings. Humans just love to blame the whole for the actions of a subset of the whole, regardless of their ability to control them, or their relationship with them.

    Anyway, it isn't like business don't do separations like that just to sever themselves from the actions of their compartments...it's like bulkheads on a ship. Some accountability should slip up the chain regardless (though not laterally, sure).
