  1. Re:Not shabby on Google Launches Powerpoint Competition, Web Ads for Mobile Devices · · Score: 1

Well I adopted using google docs recently .Reason is I dont want to send documents back and forth between my home and office machine. So I keep there stuff I update regularly from both places (like my gym log, various notes etc) . I know about that privacy is nil but honestly I dont really care for the stuff I keep there.

Their spreadsheet is matured quite a bit and is usable, while I wont make anything too complex in there, but for logging multi row- multi column data it is ideal (especially that if ever the need arise to make pretty graphs out of it I can always export it to offline format).

Vista maybe same thing as WindowsME. -Horribly broken piece of crap everybody complained about, but no one will move one -everyone will stay W2k3, WinXP till Vista era is over in worst case scenario. Mass migration to Linux will not happen.

Just recently(relatively) there was no such thing as 360. Sometimes I think M$ are really much wiser than most people here can appreciate. They did break into console market and now they can leverage their dominance even more.

If not for 360 it could be golden moment for opengl, but studios are more multi-platform oriented now and M$ is right there with their push for unified game platform (e.g easier porting between THEIR consoles and THEIR OS). You think dominance and monopoly? -You havent seen anything YET . With Vista DRM I bet their aim is up there - a total digital platform dominance (including music ,movies and whatsoever digital).

You understand that republicans are not the majority anymore, but the minority, right? Do you understand that both the House and the Senate both have a Democrat majority? Majority was not enough to pass it. Dems do not have 60 seats in senate. - Bill was killed by 53 to 46 votes . -It was republicans who killed it. When Dem get over 60 seats and senate and similar split in house then I think things will at least start moving.

BTW I am no fan of dems . But I think republicans are far worse- they are absolutely unfit to govern - things started going down hill with Reps getting majority in the house, senate and then their own president. I hope with those november elections reversal process started .

And all the vitriol about "get of jail free" is just ignoring the reality absoulte majority of thses people are just hard working , poor , desperate people .There is no more criminals among them than among general American population.

"We didn't let them" means status quo will stay for at least next 2 years - till citizens vote out republicans who seem to be unable to pass any single piece of legislation which is not pork for their corporate handlers.

Their hardware is also not very good (I had more failures with dells than with comparable HP) . But tech support was excellent ,I only called tech support for fairly complex and difficult issues - and to my surprise they were very competent.
