I don't agree with you.. I work. I get paid for the work I do. If I do over time I get given time off in thanks for the over time I do ( about 6:1 ). I don't expect the company of whom work for to fork out a "gift" for me because of a holiday that was started by some other blokes religion. (me being an atheist)
Why should the company give something for nothing? Where is the accountability in that?
I work my arse off for this comnpany.. I'm on call 24/7 Yet I still think that these "bonus's" are a waste, and don't help anyone..
Anyone who has been in a leader postion or work with HR will tell you.. it doesn't matter how much the gift is worth, or how often you give them... it will NEVER be enough.. You have to work WITH people, not bribe them.
The guy seems a bit short sighted.. As he says.. linux is modular and goes great with embedded/prepackaged devices..
yet it wont make it as a desktop replacement..
to me it seems like all desktops will end up being embedded/pre-packaged devices (solid state thin clients?) so if thats going to be the case.. then LINNUX WILL BE the desktop of the future...
Now we can put all those REALLY important Lawyers and hairdressers and telephone sanitizers into it and get them of the planet before that huge star-goat comes and eats the planet..
even better lets do that then make a beowulf cluster of them then crash them on a planet and well have the worlds most pow.. er.. umm...
The only person that can help you is YOU. If YOU don't put the effort in, Your not going to get anything out.. being succesfull is hard work.. either put up or shuttup.

Everytime someone buys one of these and put linux on it, it COSTS MS money... Lets drive them out of the console market an hurt them so much they dont come back.

Isn't there a law in the US of A that basicly (very basicly) says "If your charging for it/running it as a part of company infrustructure, then you need to change to fit in with the public free users" ??
I know I should think this cause it will be spattered across the papers tomorrow, but... What are the chances that the bad guys want/need/have got this sort of FINE detailed maps of where you live.. and plan on using them ??
