    For all you know it's a placebo button ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P... ) and they might still collect everything anyway (you many have to look at data sent). I remember news stories about someone who analyzed the network data and found data still being sent (that was an LG though, http://www.tomsguide.com/us/lg...).

    Ah not-for-profit.
    Reminds me of a story.
    A US city wanted a non-profit to buy an apartment complex (to rent for mostly university students). It had to be non-profit (keeps costs down or something).
    A guy buys it and said it will be non-profit.
    Gives himself 1 million dollar salary, his wife 1 million dollar salary, and same to daughter. But it was non-profit on paper.

    I don't think it's about suing, I think it's about defrauding their investors (the whole bankruptcy BS).
    Some of their stores are in really really prime real estate locations. They can just sell 1 store at a time and remain profitable for at least 50 years.
    I don't know what their strategy is now...

    I looked up the links in the article, and it seems he had bought the 4s second hand so he doesn't have warranty. It worked before the OS update though.
