You really think the federal government should be involved in the education of our children? There are over 13,000 school districts in the United States, each and every one of them with their own distinct needs and situations. What possible help could the federal government provide for them? The local government knows what is best for its students and should be the sole decision maker for them too. Interference from the federal (and even state) will just gets in the way because they're making decisions for millions of kids instead of just hundreds.

  3. Re:Question- on Miyamoto Scrutinizes Mario, Zelda, Hails Portal · · Score: 1

This is my biggest complaint about Twilight Princess. For 90% of the game, we have a brand new villain and a brand new side kick in Zant and Midna. They are interesting, have cool back stories, and all around fresh for a somewhat stale Zelda universe. Then all of a sudden, it's like the writers had some kind of epiphany that Zelda and Gannon HAD to be in the game and if they didn't play their stereotypical, cookie cutter roles we've seen 10 times before, the title wouldn't be worthy of being called Legend of Zelda.

I was incredibly disappointed and I finished the game only knowing I was just a few hours from being done. It was honestly a slap in the face for getting to know and love the new characters, Midna especially.

Well, the average US gamer's age is 35 years old, that's still not quite in the range of growing up with the Beatles but who hasn't grown up listening to them? I think this will go over well. Parents, when faced with the option of buying Guitar Hero World Tour or Rock Band 2, they might have heard that they can get Beatles' songs with Rock Band 2, and that's the deal breaker.

I once saw an interview with a few of these people that work for the FBI, however, the interviewer really botched it all by trying to ask stupid questions like "has anyone ever been fired for taking the pictures home?" instead of actually getting into the emotional toll it must wreak on these people (most of whom were women if I remember correctly).

I bought a Wii at launch but sold it to my brother in law a month and a half later. I had beaten Zelda, played the crap out of Wii Sports, but nothing else was on the horizon. The only games I've remotely been interested in in the last two years were Metroid, Mario Kart, and Smash Bros., I've gotten to play them all for a bit since then and actually feel like I got my full (this coming from someone who put 2000 hours into SSBM).

I'll probably get a 360 around Christmas, more games have come out for that in the last few months that I want to play than have come out for the Wii in the last two years. Kinda sad, I think I and Nintendo have parted ways.

8 hours is significant because I believe for that update, Nintendo had something like a three or four month development, testing, release schedule.
