My cynicism knows no bounds, which gives me to think what the Democratic response to this might have been if a Bush Administration official had proposed it. I'm betting something to the tune of, "Oh those damned Republicans they want to use band-aid technological fixes so they can go on driving their SUVs over baby polar bears for another ten years!"
Tried to think of a similar situation, but the closest I could think of was when Obama pointed out that keeping your tires inflated to the proper psi could save a lot of gas for the whole nation. McCain criticized it because, I dunno, it wasn't as sexy as electric cars? It's actually a perfectly reasonable suggestion that would be effective and easy to do, and as far as I can tell McCain was forced to "fight" it because the other guy brought it up first. I can't off the top of my head think of any things like this going the other way. However, Obama was sort of criticized or made fun of for agreeing with Hillary in the primaries too much.
Ohhh, can it tell me when to move and shoot as well?
I know this is a joke, but you've clearly never played DotA:) It has the most advanced gameplay of literally any game I've ever played in all my years of gaming. Saving me a couple of keystrokes is all this program does. I've been using it for a couple weeks now. While it is helpful, it's hardly playing for me.
I can assure you first hand that accessing a game's internal data structures is indeed very possible.
It could actually be simpler to do it his way. Icons never move, and he already knows where they are going to be on the screen, so no need to figure out what the data under the hood looks like. While it's certainly more processor intensive, and probably less elegant, Warcraft 3 is a pretty old game, so I don't think it's a big deal for most computers to handle the extra load.
Or he could just be doing it cause it's more fun this way:)

Deep Silver and Apogee Software have issued the following statement: "Deep Silver and Apogee Software are not affected by the situation at 3D Realms. Development on the Duke Nukem Trilogy is continuing as planned."
I assume that if there is evidence of your cancer floating around, then the likely reason is that it has metastasized to your lungs, in which case you already have a really advanced stage of the cancer. In order to actually be a useful method for diagnosis, you need it to work much sooner than that.
A sticker over the lens will usually keep the casual inspector at bay...
Except, on the off chance that they do find out it's still functional, he could be in trouble. Since he clearly has no interest in ever using the camera, it would seem like painting over the lense with black paint would be the easiest way to convincingly break it.
the Wayback machine just shows "Ain't nothin' here. Y'all best be movin' on, compadre" on the main page, from 2004 through the last snapshot in 2005. (The news story saying that this is a recent change is apparently wrong). I haven't RTFA but a different FA that I R'd said before the story broke, if you went to alex.kozinski.com you'd see the "Ain't Nothin here." bit. Then if you knew the right directory you could go to alex.kozinski.com/porn and see the naughty bits. This is probably why he thought no one else could see it. Since then he took it off completely.
No standard deviations => this guy doesn't know how to computer statistical significance => "Objectively, SteelSeries made me a better gamer." is a statement that he can't actually justify. Ignoring...
I use GoDaddy, and even though I don't have anything remotely objectionable on my site I'd like to change services. Who would people suggest as an alternative? Also, what does this mean for the remainder of time paid for through GoDaddy? Do I have to wait until the end of it?
Plus, if the no-cd applies to the Mac version too, people can play Diablo II on their new MacBook Air without the need to lug an external optical drive around everywhere:) For WC3 it does apply, which is great for me. I never wanted to install risky bootleg hacks on my mac, since it's also my work computer.
i had the same idea, but only found 1 decent place for it: go to the 'Deep Dark Galaxy' in the garden. in the middle of the starting beach there is a cannon that shoots you to a planet with a firepower flower. instead of shooting there, aim at the green planet on the right. there is a screw that you unspin, and the planet will begin to shrink. if you do a few long jumps, eventually the planet will shrink enough that it sends you into orbit! that is until the planet disappears, and there is no more gravity - then you get sucked over to the brown planet that you were supposed to go to in the first place.
as someone stated, if i am a silver user, i now have more incentive to upgrade to gold. the fact that it is a sleazy way to add 'value' to the premium account is irrelevant, if it gets more money. its not going to have an effect on software sales, because if a demo comes out well before the game is available, even if you lose a week you will still finish it before the game comes out. it only adds additional bragging rights to the gold members, and impatient silver members will upgrade. i already own an xbox, and its not decreasing the value of software i purchase, so it really can't cause a loss of profit off of silver members.
here's what M$ is missing - dirty tactics like this may prevent people from buying an xbox at all. thats the only part of the market that they could lose sales from due to this. i might look at this as a pc gamer and decide to go with a ps3 now that it has been brought to my attention how underhanded these guys are.
"YOU CAN WRENCH, DIE, RESPAWN, REPEAT THROUGH THE GAME."
In other words, it's too easy. They've got a point.
That said, the actual quoted argument doesn't really. On the surface, sure, but on closer examination it falls apart. Sure, if you abuse the Vita Chambers in such a way, eventually you'll complete the game. But why the hell would anyone want to do that? It's like noting you can hit Level 60 in World of Warcraft by just farming the lowest-level creature that gives you XP at any point. yeah and pol pot wasn't so bad, i mean look at hitler!
"The music, in case your wondering, is a piece from minimalist composer Philip Glass, who created the music for Koyaanisqatsi." Wow your smart CVG! Here's to hopping every knows what's wrong w/ above sentence.
they forgot my favorite, which is related to the conservation of momentum one. this is the one that says, no matter how fast you are going, as long as you are caught, you will be ok. in reality, the catch wouldn't do you any more good than slamming into the ground, unless the catcher slowly decelerates you, which still probably won't be enough, since they will be limited by the height of their arms off the ground. another good one is in matrix revolutions, where neo catches trinity, he's clearly travelling at a few 1000 mph, so she might as well have gotten hit by a train. and of course, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, so the catcher is going to get hit just as hard, too.
I was pretty offended by the implications of the race of the main character in GTA:SA. Not because he was the first black GTA character, but because he was also the first one that could SWIM!!! WTF kinda sense does that make? Was he also the first that could ice skate?

I remember back in the day when people had nostalgic comments that actually served a purpose. Wait no I don't.
