Well the world is bigger than the us so I can list a few legitt sites outside the gtlds you mention (non of the new ones yet)
Skabdiabanken.no (my bank)
uia.no (my university)
nbim.no (norwegian petrolium fund).... (many more)
Ok they are in a national TLD but stil not in your list so my point is stil valid, and yjose mnew ones, well wether they will be used by scamers or not is lagergly up to the people who ended up with them, of the put good checkes in place.
For example requiring that jou show proof that you are registered as a bank before being able to register a.bank tld, the scamers wil have a hard time
You are right about that, IMHO the qoute was badly formulated, i this reffers to NorNed which connects the south of Norway to the north of The Netharlands thus giving Norway the possibility to directly import/export electricity from/to central Europe.
A nanoparsec is rather large, but iirc meteris trhe SI unit for distance so it is implied.
But I had to smile when I realised that my apartment is rather small I mean.0033 nanaAU^2 does not sound mouch does it, I wonder how well my apartment wold sell if I use that unit when I sell it at some point.:)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but shorting anything on the way up is a bad idea right? So you lhave a loss on step one, no idea about step 2 and have a profit at 3, if step 2 is just hidden to irritate us, pleace contact me and we might agree on a price for step 12...... oh wait step 2 is fore someone to bite and pay you for "a fast way ta make money" nicely played and of corse the profit is all yours . Have a nice day and thanks for puting a smile on my face
hmm just one tiny problem, in places OpenStreetmap is even worse than apple maps. I live in arendal (se costa of Norway) and å lot of streets are missing completely, and adress inf is non existent. I have actualy contibuted a fex steets but putting in all the address info is just to time consuming.
Well I'm no expert, but both CNBC and Bloomberg agree the at lot of the recent drop in Apples stock price i sou to investors worrying over a rather large hike in "Capital gains" taxes if the Fiscal cliff hits, the want to get there gains reported before that point (well who really wants to bay more tax then they have to?).
So my uneducated guess is that Apples stock price well see a nice little rise in the beginning of 2013
Good point, why does the students have admin rights on school issued laptops (they should not need it any-more unless the run an outdated windows version, correct?)
No they are not (directly) as far as i know (not an expert so I may be way off), the are however delivering spam for compromised clients.
So what is the difference?
Well if the server originates the mail the server it self is compromised, so the admin may be at fault (or the local os/software).
In the case of spam originating from a client (esp if the client is outside the admins own organisation e.g br>
And now for an obvious question: Why aren't every server running spam filers before delivering mail headed for exterbnal destinations? Well unfortunately checking for spam, as everything else, requiers resources (CPU,memory, power etc) non of which are free So it becomes a question of cost vs risk (of negative press etc).
If you where referring to open relays, well the admins of said relays have no excuses, As far as I know the defaults for the wast majority of linux/unix mail server software, has come with defaults that block unauthenticated mail coming from external client addressed to non local mail boxes , for a long time now.
Disclaimer:
As stated above, I'm not an expert on the subject so any corrections are welcomed.
Granted the guide he linked to refers to an ALPHA release but as of October 30. release candidate 4 is out and an updated howto (SambaWiki so this is updated continuously) is available at http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/HOWTO
Yes samba has its own dns server but it can easily (according to the howto) be integrated whit recent bind releases so yoy don't have to abandon your current dns infrastructure
CDs may not be an example of good aq, but it's usually the best aq (at least source quality) people can easily get (how many non audiophiles have sacd players, or ar wiling to shell out the extra cash to get an audio DVD?) so cd is the standard most people use for good quality.
Disclaimer:
I'm no expert so if I'm wrong here I appreciate any factual corrections.
Well IPv6 is hierarchical at least until every business with more than 50-60 people decide to get there own PI space, so the don't have to change internal config every time they change isp, but don't worry I'm certain that ISPs and carriers will get routers with sufficient TCAM space by the time the IPv6 routing table explodes
Or you are free to actually configure ipv6 addresses manually, so people would only need o memorise a prefix and the last 2-4 characters
Prefix : 2001:0DB8:D:1::/64
VM1 2001:0DB8:D:1::100
VM2 2001:0DB8:D:1::101
etc
ok a bit more to remember but the users you refereed to only have to learn the prefix and the part after the last :
Will your users grumble a bit? yes, people don't realy like change
Will the cope? My guess is yes, a few will have problems the first week or so but after that.....
Hmm Ipod 4G/LTE That sounds more like iPhone5 (what ever apple decides to call it)(if it's going to get LTE that is) I realy hope they will have an 800 Mhz lte chip in there so we European iPhone users can get the lte goodnees (subject not coverage of coarse)
Very bad idea, you just broke every site that heppens to have a lover path mtu than her local lan (which probably uses 1500 bytes) remember ipv6 does not fragment packets in transit it sends icmpv6 "pakcet to big" (type 2 code 0), so at a minimum you need to allow that before the denying of icmp
am alternative solution is to set the mtu on the local lan to 1280 (minimum mtu allowed in ipv6 (can be done with ra or dhvpv6).
go tell cisco that, there web management (I use the cli myself) still requiers java (according to ethan banks the latest version of sdm for the asa has finnaly dropped it), so if you want to interact with cisco gear from a mac (sorry no native gui) on anuthing other than cli you need java, bad cisco bad.(
Agreed, irc is better than most im platform, only problem is, you can never convince a noon geek (eg family abroad) to use irc, thei already have an messender account and don|t want another client.
I didn't know" Rural broadband"=Satellite, I actually work for an ISP (SE Norway) we had some costumer that we had to put on satellite but that is extreme cases (people living over 8KM cable distance from the co servicing the line or with extremely bad cables) and that sucked. Things might get better when the next generation satellites with tighter spot beams (and therefor the possibility of much more frequency reuse from the same orbital location resulting in (at least for downstream ) much additional bandwidth an hopefully more generous caps. And a question about sat banwith caps (I only have some knowledge of what SESs (our sat partner) terms are) Is the 5GB/month the absolute max or the one 80+% of people chose as the next tier is significantly more expensive?
Oh so Cisco accepted a big contract and nice profits " shame om Cisco" lol. Here is the thing If Cisco had not done it Jniper or maybe even HP (I'm not shore if they do firewalls or not) wold have and the board (or at least chief of sales) wold hav had a have time explaining to investors why, and maybe even lost tier jobs. So the quiestion is "if it was your job what wold you do?"
Well more along the lines of : A forum notifies the clients that are viewing a particular thread when a new post is made, instead of the browsers having to poll/refresh to check, this can save a lot of load on a popular forom

This is a quick posy from work so I did not have time to check SPDY Out in detail so If this is nonsense piece don't mood me down but if you have time a correction will be appreciated
Oh yes the bell curve (ie normal distribution) all well and good but watch out for Fat tails, do not assume that things haves according to a bell curve, those investors that did that in 2008 regretted it
Well I am no expert but here are my €0.02: Far prices seem to be very volatile as can be expected, crops are sensitive to lots of things (temperature, rainfall pests etc) and these are only the factors effecting output of goods. When it comes to availability you also have the political factor, lets say India fears drought well the ban exports and so the world market has less to go around so of cause prices head up
Well am I right or wrong or maybe partly right, input appreciated
