I just bought a 10gb Archos Jukebox on E-Bay for a decent price... I'm just a bit worried about the battery life, but this should be perfect for working out. No more listening to CNN in the corporate weightroom!
While this is a great idea, most corporations will not want to do this for one big reason -- they should be doing off-site backups anyway, in case a disaster strikes the Corp building.
Say that one of the companies in the WTC had done this. Sure, they woulda had backups when a server blew up, but after the entire building was destroyed, they would have had nothing.
You never want to put ALL of your marbles into local backups.
... I just can't afford the hardware. The day they find a way to release OS X for x86, I (and i would bet a large portion of the market) are there. It's just got to be so hard to support so much hardware.
I don't recall mentioning my gramma in my post. I consider myself a smart guy and setting up gnome2 was still a pain in the ass. Not impossible, but not friendly.
How in the *blue fuck* do you release a window manager without the ability to change the menus! That's AWFUL, and there is absolutely no excuse for this. Gnome 2.0 should not have been released.
Yeah yeah, the speed is great and Nautilus is now usable. But expect a lot of shaking-up for Gnome in the next 6 months, becuase the UI blows and the configs are impossible and you've seen all of the other [correct] posts about how the devolopers need a REAL ui expert.
That's not exactly the panel I was talking about. If you right click that menu there, you can add a REAL panel (the ones that you can move around and change the thickness and such). You can also remove the little one up top after that. I don't want Mao OS 9 either.
One last complaint -- The panel prefs suck - My panel would not span the entire bottom of my screen! Is that fixable? I don't like that half-panel garbage.
If there's one good thing that college has taught me, it's the fact that advil + lots of water not only is good treatment for hangover, but is also a good prevention too! Take it before you go to bed -- unless you pass out cold, then you must suffer!
I tried Garnome 0.11.0 after the discussion of the last Gnome release, and I must say how awesome garnome is.
However, Gnome 2.0 gave me mixed reactions. First off, the speed is unbelievable. Nautilus is actually a USABLE utility now (550mhz Athlon, 288ram), and everything runs SO much faster!
On the other hand, I just didn't like the fact that I had to re-do all of my config, and wasn't in the mood to toy with it. So i'll keep testing a bit, but I'll be more excited when mandrake does all their pretty menus for me and I don't have to worry about it:)
Another problem was the fact that I didn't know how to rebuild gaim applet and xmms-gnome for my garnome, and Evolution didn't work. Maybe I needed to re-specify my paths when compiling. I can't live without those 3 applets/programs.
Note that i said "or whatever"... my favorite music (death metal) is rarely on p2p networks. That's why I get onto dalnet and jump into #mp3_metal and #mp3_death !
The inner-blessings of p2p fix this problem though! Since the file will suck, it will get deleted off most people's hard drives, and will not become as circumvented.
On the other hand, the Eminem files or whatever that are GOOD will eventually spread out, making your chances of finding the right file better with time.
It's nothing to be worried about, as long as people do a good job of stealing and organizing their music (tongue in cheek).
You know what I love about the mozilla project? Every bug I submitted (usually obscure ones on a few web pages) have gotten labelled ALREADY FIXED! I think they're really on the ball with everything.

You know you drank too much last night when you read the title as "Unavoidable Vomiting Machines" :)

Is that really how he died? Because from what I read on the k5 discussion, the family did not want to discuss it.

RESTRICTED SITE
At least your Windows partition BOOTS UP! I'm at the infamous NT blue screen of death...
However, after turning off one of my lights, a large hologram was illuminated, and it looked spectacular!
Pizza and beer stains!
This brings new meaning to people who want to "crack" into the system!
First off there is no unified setup anymore. Second, half of the preference tools segfault on crash for me (yes, i have submitted bug reports).
Like gnome 1.0, this is probably going to take till the 53rd release before it's nice.

THERE ARE NO MENU EDITING CAPABILITIES

I don't know, but I'm willing to bet that the number of times he's gotten laid certainly hasn't gone *DOWN* since he stopped IRCing so much...
Checket out, it makes installing/testing Gnome 2.0 very easy and will not affect your Gnome 1.4 installation (it installs to ~/garnome/)

I also seem to recall hundreds of businesses using the "open source business model" going out of business within the past year and a half.
Is it Mozilla's responsibility to compensate for inadequate web programming?

Think of it on the bright side -- there could have been snide remarks concerning her boyfriend's ending as well! :)
